Seen the reports on Hodgson's unintentional potential gaff at half time in the England game?

    How bloody ridiculous?

That lot of belly button gazers at Kick it Out should take a good long look at themselves (as should the journo, his agent and the player who raised this in the first place).

It won't be long before it is racist to use any adjective to describe people, unless of course you are described as white when anyone can say anything about you.

Hodgson was using a story about astronauts and how they fed monkeys in space (as a euphemism to get Smalling to pass more to Townsend) to help motivate his team for the second half with no reference to race, creed or colour only for some numpty player to consider it possibly racist and open up the can of worms which has ensued.

It will be interesting to see the next England squad and who is missing after this week.

It's a bunch of crap and anyone who thinks it was racist in any way should take a good look at themselves as they're the ones seeing something that isn't there.

Looks like the word monkey has to be banned I am afraid. Every time it is used, it must have a racist connotation. :emoticon-0114-dull:

Wouldn't be surprised to see a story in the Daily Fail calling someone racist because they called an actual monkey a monkey.

Most people wouldn't have made any connection but the PC brigade drew attention to something that wasn't really there.

It's like when they banned the golliwog off jam. Most kids wanted to collect them for the badges and didn't even think of any racisit implications.

I would find it more racist of the journalist to identify a race connection than it was the actual speech. The speech makes no reference to race whatsoever, its just a story. The world has gone mad.

    Very true WM

Another bunch of self promoting belly button gazers. What's their motto: -

"Never mind the real world we know everyone picks on us"
