I guess it would need a managerial change,or a massive injury crisis,to get him back here. Good luck to him,it seems he is wanted at Sunderland. I hope Sunderland don't go down, for what it's worth to our Mackem friend.
I'm still gutted he went. He's not perfect - but I always felt his passing was way more progressive than most of our team. He was always more likely to thread a pass that would create a chance rather than a 'statistical' pass.
He wont be happy here as long as laudrup is the manager and even though we could do with him back he is better off for his own sake with sunderland....I expect him back in pre season training with us next season as whether laudrup wants to go or not jinks won't have any of it and he will be gone...
First of all I've allways rated Ki. But the problem with Ki is IMO, that KI had a "down" last season, not so focused at times. I think Laudrup and the staff did expect more goals from Ki in the same way he was a scoring for Celtic and his national side. That is why other players in Ki's positon have come into the team. But I have always rated Ki as a player, very good passer, making a pass always with a purpose. If Ki is developing as a player at Sunderland I could imagine that Laudrup would call for his service at Swansea in the very near future cos Ki is a very flexible player, who is able to play more positions.
I think all of that is correct but I also think it's unlikely he'll get into our side ahead of who we have here, rightly or wrongly. Ki's best position is as an advanced midfielder where he can dictate attacking play. Imo he offers a different option to JDG but neither are that great at tracking back and making a tackle. Ki would be starting most games on the bench and I don't think he's happy with that. Play him in a more holding role or worse still a defensive role as we have been and you're not getting the best out of him. That's why Poyet has now put him further up the field.
He's still ours ,which is a nice position to be in , we paid £6,000.000 for him and whether he's worth that is debatable but as long as he stays fit then he'll still be near that valuation which could buy us someone better ? . whats the worst that can happen .
Personally I don't want him back. He demanded to be picked over others every game in an attempt to bolster his failing world cup career, which was impeded by an innocuous comment he made on face book about the manager of the Malaysian national squad. He had to apologies for his comments, damaging his superstar status in S Korea. To bolster his international chances he demanded that he be in the starting 11 every game for the Swans, refusing to play CB where Laudrup, knowing he was not good enough as a midfielder, wanted to convert him. Ki refused to play CB, demanding a CM, AM spot. He spent the next few weeks stropping around in training, kicking the balls away when training had ended. Within a month he was gone. This from the training field His contribution to us has hardly been influential. On the training pitch he performed poorly, lazy, and off it he preferred the company of an entourage of S. Korean media reporters to his team mates. Ki has been a weak bit part player for us, impotent and inconsequential on the pitch, arrogant and self centered off it. Stay where you are Ki, your not good enough to play for the Swans.
He demanded to be picked Jesus i have heard some rubbish on here in my time but this takes the biscuit...You could not make it up if you tried......err well some could.
Interesting comments there Stumpy. Hadn't heard about the antics on the training ground and refusing to play in positions etc. Be interesting to see if anybody else. Heard about this. Thanks.
Dai 2, this is dai number 2 isnt it? Explain your comments there's a good boy. Explain to me why you feel this way ? do you think or know something different ? Why do you think Ki was shipped out ?. Dai, another opportunity for you to surprise everyone and air an opinion, even a thought would do, a view. Your opinion may count, don't be frightened dai, have courage, tell us what you think really happened. You come across as very unhappy and bitter dai, what happened to you, anything I can help you with? PM me if you want a chat Libertarian Nephew's son, in the academy buddy.
If true, then it's a sad indictment of the player in question, but I would need a lot more than "nephew's son" providing the information, before accepting it as authentic.
Stumpy this is the type of comment that fans make up and they cant possibly know that ki demanded to play every game as that wont happen at any football club. He never played every game for celtic and he wont play every game for sunderland....He never said any of those things, All that happened was he complained that he was not used properly and there was enough comments on here to suggest that was true and at the time sunderland enquired if he was available for a loan and as ki was in agreement then thats what happened...It is what happens all the time in football and when it does the fans always make up stories that are way off the mark and its just a plain and simple everyday thing that clubs do...Fair play he has done wonders at sunderland and whether we will sell him to them or he comes back is another story that only the club and ki will be privee too...
Lib Yet you accept what dai says, how odd. I don't expect you to believe what I say as Gospel, I can only say what I've heard, after that its up to you. Take it with a pinch of salt if you want, it's of no consequence to me either way.
what happens a player gets sent out on loan for whatever reasons that only the player and the club would know and naturally the fans make up what they think happened and if it is said enough times the fans believe it to be true when the fact is we would not know the circumstances and why would we as its a deal that happens at all clubs. Im pissed off he was allowed to go but i don't know the reasons as the club has not given any..
