http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32819440 Your thoughts, was he or would you give it to somebody else ?
I think that Ki more or less deserved it. Pleased to see that Fabianski won Players' Player. As for Young Player, whilst only here on loan, I'd have given it to Tom Carroll. That said Jonjo is only 23!
Yeah, happy with that, and glad Fab got the recognition too. Ki has got 8 goals this season, that's pretty incredible when you think about it!
Ki has felt like a new signing this year and an excellent one at that. Ki is the right one for me and lets not forget he has added goals to his game as well. Fab has also been outstanding and glad he got something.
I thought it would be between the two, glad Ki has got it, he has been Mr Cool all season, not to mention his 8 goals also, Fab a close second..............
Have to agree, what was as bad was not being able to or leaving it to late to call him back in January.
Probably the right call but I would have been happy to see Fab, Williams get it or even Cork and Fernandez based on the second half of the season. It was a good all round performance by the team.
I liked Laudrop but have to say he got this one badly wrong. So why can't Monk do the same with a certain Mr Michu.
Ki was the away supporters choice for the majority of the season so no surprise there .Good to see Fab (who was second choice by the travelling support ) get the players player and worthy winner and recognition by his peers on how much they rate his contribution this season .
Totally to do with the manager - Ki had played his 20 games and wanted to go home, Laudrup refused so Ki got himself 'injured' and went AWOL. Correct decision by a manager who didn't want disruptive influences or players who didn't want to play deep and didn't want to be at the club. Also, there were many (most) who thought we had been robbed after his first season - not at all impressive. But, Ki has certainly proved me wrong this season and I wouldn't argue with him getting player of the year (although I went for Ash). However, looking back at his time in Sunderland they only started on their run of wins when he had a period off with injury. So between them Laudrup, Poyet & Monk have sorted him out.
No argument from me at Ki being the player of the season even though you can make a case for a number of players but overall it's a sound choice....
So why should Monk bring back a disruptive influence like Michu as it's the correct decision to kick him out by your logic on Ki Nice to see you finally admit then that Monk was right to kick out the Spanish contingent.
if only Montero had not been injured I think he would have been in with a shout.. what a great signing Fab has been
