Amazing what they can do these days. Just had my gall bladder removed (long story) and they do it all with 3 small holes to stick things in and a 1 1/2 inch cut just above your belly button to extract the gall bladder itself. Been laid up for a while as it was sore as hell afterwards, but it's remarkably routine for these surgeons. Plus it's free here. My sister lives in the USA and it cost her a load when she had hers out. TF for the NHS!

It cost about £2k to say hello to a doctor in the US doesn't it?

When I see anything about the price of meds or routine medical procedures it is quite shocking and your average joe seriously couldn't afford illness over!

Swift recovery Sid... I absolutely love the NHS...having lived in the States and now here in the Middle East I can say the NHS is the jewel in the crown for the UK and should never be took for granted, we are so lucky to have it

Weirdly... ****ing Belgium's healthcare system was quite incredible when I lived there. Obviously the NHS is glorious in comparison to what the US have on offer but ****ing Belgium of all places has both beat.

I'm limited in my experiences with Australia so I'd be curious to know what others think about it, but the NHS seems to be looked down upon here.

I was wondering why you'd been conspicuously absent from our board (other than because we're good right now).

Feel free to come back, we need better wind up attempts than Monty's thread yesterday.

My friend lost his mother last year to a gall bladder removal! No idea of the ins and outs of how but I know they’re still investigating it 11 months on

Cheers lads. I look forward to boring some of you in the pub with my op scar and tales of pain and discomfort in due course!

Bizarrely, I have yet to see us lose this season, so I'm hoping this crappy form will be over by the time I make my next match...

Must be terrible living in America, getting knocked over crossing the street, two broken legs, cracked rib, gash across forehead, getting shoved into an ambulance, screaming in agony whilst thinking '**** me! This is gonna cost me this like!'
