I do believe it will be the one between 2 Spaniards Granero and Arteta. They have very similar style and I think it will be very interesting to see how Granero will cope with this situation, as IMO Arteta is one of the best CM/CDM in the league. Will Granero be midfield maestro on saturday or will he give his baton to Arteta?
I do not agree with your opinion on Arteta. He is definetely not one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. I wouldn't include him in the top 20 midfielders in the Premier League.
Yes, it is true but Arteta is one that dictates the tempo for them and Granero for us. It's really important not to let them play their game because Arsenal has the highest possession in the league. @finglasqpr Arteta has an average 95,5 passes in a match. Highest in the leauge. And stunning pass accuracy of 93,7 %. 2nd highest in the leauge, just behind Rio Ferdinand. He's long balls ratio is 91 %. I didn't say he's the best but surely in top 20.
Pirate.. I dont care about stats and they are absolute crap IMO... Tabrs scored 2 goals last season so that makes him the worst attacking midfielder in the league Also, this season...we have lost every time he and granero have played..so therefore..according to sat analysis.they are both s**te.. also if you wish i can prove the sky is actually green, premiership is the best in the world AND messi canot be a good footballer..! Forget the stats and watch the game...!!
I think we can match them in midfield as long as Hughes plays 5 in there with Diakite, Granero and Faurlin as a central 3.
I really would like to see Faurlin in and Park out, but this will never happen so maybe Park on the right and Hoilett out. I'm not very happy about Park situation.
As I say, Santo looked awful at left back, but I bet Park starts on the right. I think Adel could miss out after Hoilett's performance against Everton. I'd play this: -------------------------Cesar-------------------------- Bosingwa------------M'Bia----Hill------------------Traore -----------------Diakite-------Faurin-------------------- Hoilett-----------------Granero------------------Taarabt ----------------------Zamora--------------------------- Don't think Hughes will though.
Yes Hoilett is very good cutting in from the left. But so is Adel. I agree with your formation. I just think Nelsen was our best defensive player. I'm not familiar with Hill at CB. He's better?
Yes, I've been browsing their forums last week and they're very angry because QPR signed him. But I'm glad he came to Loftus Road.
El Pirata, Stats prove nothing. Would you have Arteta in the QPR midfield? If so, instead of who? I don't think he is good enough for our midfield and at the moment, we're bottom of the league. He certainally hasn't got me running scared.
Good thread. Arteta is still a fine player and there is no doubt that he makes Arsenal thick. The interesting thing about Arsenal IMO is that they are nowhere near the team they were 2-3 years ago. Their football is not as fast and effective. Arsenal seem to be trying to get the ball forward much more quickly and IMO this is because the standard of quality in their midfield is not as good as previous years. They no longer have the ability to pass a team to death. I was wrong in my recent posts about Grenero. I though he lacked the physicality to play as DCM. Last week he proved beyond doubt that he is a tough nut and can put in the tackles. Arteta is a proven Prem player, Granero still has a long way to go to prove he is top quality. It will be an interesting dual.
Col..your team is spot on but I'd have Nelson for Hill.. Only wish MH would see that... Would also like to see Cisse at some stage as he will frighten them... As for Granero..what can i say that I havent already..One of my all time favourite players and wil be totally at home on that pitch..I expect a football-ing masterclass from the "G-Man". Dont think Arteta will get near him. Credit to Arteta though..good player but not good enough for our midfield right now !
Col, I think we generally are never far apart on players and formations. IMO this is our strongest formation and very close to my 11. I love Hill for his honesty and effort but IMO he is simply not fast enough for Prem football. I would reluctantly play Ferdy ahead of him. Ferdinand must have been going through agony over the last 12 months and in fairness his performances have nearly always been pretty decent. I hope he can now concentrate on football and I fully expect to see a big improvement in the coming weeks and months. I have been impressed with Granero since his arrival and I am happy to admit that I was proved wrong when I said he was not robust enough to play as a DCM. He certainly can. I would play Granero as a DCM beside Diakite and Faurlin as an ACM. Granero does not seem to have the killer pass while we all know Faurlin has. His range of passing is class and with Adel and Jnr running off him he could cause damage. Just my thoughts.
I really don't know why Granero doesn't even try a trough ball when he's in the final third or on the edge of the penalty box. His long passes aren't the best on the planet, but I think he should be able to play a 5 meter killer ball. Could he be so bad at this he won't give it a try. But to be honest Zamora isn't player who runs channels. If he can get better on this passes what player he would be. What do you think about this?
