With the usual 'foot in mouth' timing, the new England Director of Cricket Andrew Strauss last night informed Kevin Petersen that he will not play for England again, shortly after he had made a career-high 326 not out against Leicestershire. This also comes after the Chairman of the Board, Colin Graves had said he could be recalled if he impressed in the county games. However, considering that Strauss inadvertantly was recorded calling Petersen a 'c*nt' in a TV discussion last year you didn't have to be Nostradamus to see this coming. So England struggling against a weakened Windies will now face a revitalised New Zealand followed by the rampant Aussies with a potential match-winner playing Division Two county cricket. No doubt that other perennial self-promoter Piers Morgan will be going into meltdown over this so there should be flack flying in all directions...
