Ex-hornet Kevin Phillips has been heavily rumoured today to be rejoining us this summer. He has just been released by Birmingham. I would personally welcome this move as I think he can still score goals at this level, and he would also be influential to our other young strikers.
    What does everybody else think?

Love him to come back and pass on his wisdom to our young strikers!

Sign him up on a one-year contract with a coaching role upon completion. Our current coaches are very "defensive", it would be good to have an experienced striker added to the staff (though you wouldnt think it looking at our goals for/against). Caution is required however - Super Kev wont solve the striker problem on his own if and when Graham leaves.

He'll know that we are the biggest club that can offer him a realistic chance of starting games, that we truly value our senior players, and that there is a realistic route into coaching here. He knows that the fans will warm to him. The only question mark would be money, but given that he's 38 I'd be surprised if anyone could blow us out of the water financially.

It would be a great move!! If we can get the 4-5mill Danny is worth and KP as a replacement on a free then thats great dealing. He is a wise striker with great experience to guide and mentor the young heads in the team. He will be the tip of the experience skewer; with MT at the back JE in the middle and KP as the tip.

he still got an eye for goal, not the legs though, would expect maybe 10 - 15 goals from him next season if he joined, would be a fantastic buy

We would need someone else too I think at 37/38 asking for 90 mins game in game out ,might be tough for him, that said Sherringham played full games at 40!

Looking at our defensive strength perhaps we need a striker to tell us how to coach defence :)

I believe he will be after a 2 year deal (to take him up to the pernsion age), and I agree with the earlier post - he won't last 90 mins in 46 games.

Yes I loved him in his prime and he has shown flashes of form, but he needs to be carressed through his future games. We need 4 strikers at this level IMO, I know we have got away with it but we need to be cautious.

I believe he could have a role to play, but as a mentor to the younger players and maybe as an impact player.

the watford team is full of youth, one of the reasons that DG was so successful was because he was a older player with a little bit of experience, he will help the others perform and perform himself a must sign for me

He's had fantastic career, would love him to come back and I think he could still have an important role to play. We need players with lots of experience - Eustace and Taylor were essential to any success last season.

With Sordell, Deeney and hopefully new strikers coming through he could prove a good mentor and also score a few himself.

I think a one year deal with him holding an option of a second year as a coach at pre-agreed wages is the most we would guarantee.

Even at 38, he'll be taking home a few grand a week. For a club counting every penny £150-250k or so for the second year would surely be too much to commit to. Fortunately, I doubt another club would offer two.

I'll second that - don't need him to play 46 games of 90 minute football

Showing my ignorance- presume he has done his 'badges'? Or would he not need to have done them?
