what do you think....

i think its both, he had another calamitous display, reminiscent of hudson in his early days here, a total liability. i think our best option is to loan him out to see if he can be a useful player for us by regaining that sharpness you can only get from playing every week....

what do you think?>>>

I dont think he's ****e swamp even though he was on Sat (make sense?). Regular games elsewhere would certainly bring back the sharpness but if we're moving forward and hopefully promoted, I dont think Kev (as well as a few others) will be completing the journey with us <ok>

It's always hard when a Cardiff favourite goes downhill, I think Kev could do a good job elsewhere but not for us any longer.

Kev is 30 now and unlikely to benefit from being loaned out, let alone the fact that I doubt he'd appreciate it having been a one-time team stalwart.

This isn't just a sudden drop in form though. As someone else said on here, he hasn't been as convincing this past couple of seasons as he was earlier in his time with us when he was one of the first names on the team sheet.

Racing across the pitch making last ditch tackles behind our CBs seems like history now. Although he never offered a goal threat to the opposition going forward, he did it well and got back to quickly to cover breakaways.

Match fitness for him will certainly be a factor and a regular run out with another club wouldn't do any harm, but I'm not convinced it's only that. I think we are possibly expecting more now than he can give.

Not sure how long his contract has to run, but this could be his last season with us.

Sad to say it but I don't think he will be part of our future plans. He just looks knackered in every game. Maybe fans should stop encouraging him to spend time with their wives. He might be taking the chant too seriously.:emoticon-0104-surpr

My opinion (on here) before the game was to play Nugent with turner and leave connolly outside.
Now I don't honestly know if that would have made a difference on the day but I think, as I did then, that putting youth in at the deep end can have beneficial affects, in workrate, desire to be seen to be capable and in determination to win. (When you're young you don't really do losing do you?)
I wish they had tried it though.

Nugent in again at the deepend might well have worked - he couldn't have been any worse than what we experienced on Saturday.

Maybe then we could have brought on the Gunnar in place of Cowie and played the boy in the right position instead of a makeshift right back!

Sad Sad times to be talking about Super kev like this but at 30 we should be looking to a future replacement. The other factor that we haven’t mentioned on here so far apart from the lack of form is his current run with injuries. He was very fit and hardly ever picked up an injury but if he did he seemed to shake them off real easy apart from the odd Hammy. These recent knocks and bumps though seem to knock him not only in the length of time out but he seems to have come back that bit slower and lost that constant fitness he always seemed to have.

I think it's only eighteen months or so ago that he would have been first on the team-sheet. It's sad to see but it's an inveitable part of the game. I'm afraid he wont' be on the bus if we go up as champions either because I ahve a feeling htat someone will come in for him in January. Having said that I'm not sure what the stae of his contract is either. regardless, he'll do a good job of keeping someone in the Championship or maybe getting someone up from league one...

Match fitness, form, confidence, all issues for McNuggs. Yes, he could have done better with the cross for their second but wtf was supposed to cover for Taylor when he broke forward? The gung ho approach by all but McNuggs was an sbe and the main cause for the goal.

However, Kev was still getting forward and not being passed by his winger - his final ball was awful but has it ever been different?

With Hudson returning, Connolly will return to right back (by the way he was pretty poor at centre back as well, looked lost at times) and Kev will be on the bench again - if he is lucky. That will do nothing for his confidence. Are there any Development Squad games coming up? Malky must give him game time there to help him regain what he has lost. If he does he will still be valuable to us in the run in.
