The Watford website confirms that a compensation package has been agreed for them with Cardiff. It also state that Sean Dyche will be confirming his own backroom staff soon. What do people think of this? My thoughts are that at least one of them will be greatly missed.
I think we will miss all of them, simply because they knew how things worked at the club and knew the ambition. However I don't know how east they will be to replace, so I shall wait and see
If I'm honest, I don't know enough of what they do behind the scenes to comment greatly. I'd say they aren't Irreplaceable, although maybe Collinge is the biggest loss - but if he has support staff, then they'd know the work he does and can just carry it on! At least this does give Sean a chance to bring in his 'own' people....
I would tend to agree about Collinge as we are a club who "cannot afford" injuries. When you hear of other clubs lists of "injured players" it pleases me how well we do with our 15 man squad. I only hope Dyche is up to speed on the replacements. I had wondered about getting Terry Burton back since Dyche has had previous dealings? I have seen no mention of the fact the players reported back for pre-season today, so I hope Dyche was ready.
Good point on the injury front but sure somebody from the Youth team physio team can step up... As for the other 2..well one only joined last season and the other was another coach who can be replaced easily.
I'm ot sure if it was pre-season as such today, but sounded like more one-to-ones, so maybe they were checking to see kn-one has really let themself go over the summer etc...
Don't care about the coaches, they were Malky's appointments. I only hope, nine days before we play Borehamwood, that Collinge's replacement is in place by Monday at the very latest.
Well, Collinge was 'only' head of medical - will still have Matt Springham, the sports scientist and I think Andy Rolls is still there as physio. I expect there is an Academy physio too who can always step up if need be
jonmwfc Jon Marks #watfordfc confirm Ian Woan as Assistant Manager & ex Ipswich coach Tony Loughlan as 1st team coach.

I don't think pre-season officially started today. Judging by Sean Murray's twitter it was fitness testing.
they've all been doing fitness training this week. i think they start training proper on Monday. This is expected news and i'm sure Sean has replacements lined up. Great news about the coaching staff
Well we have appointed our own backroom staff now and we have made even more unknown quantities of compo money from Cardiff! I have been surprised we let Collinge go though. Mind you, with the wet & almost continuously damp atmosphere down there they need to be careful they don't get ill or develope arthritis!
Everyone is replaceable except the fans. If 10,000 Watford season ticket holders walked up the M1 to support another team there would not be another 10,000 to replace them at the Vic. We are irreplaceable. Sorry - had a bad week.
guys you can take some comfort from us at swansea, when Martinez left us to join wigan he took all our backroom staff with him plus two of our best players, we were all gutted but as it turned out we actually got better with a new manager and new backroom staff and the rest is history as we reached the premiership 3 seasons later......so dont worry to much it will all turn out for the better...good luck for the season...
