Am I the only person who genuinely things that shouldn't have been a red? I've watched it over and over again and still don't see it as one. The ball wasn't 'unreachable' and thus it could have been seen that he was desperately trying to win the ball. But even if he wasn't and simply lost his temper, it wasn't even a proper kick, he leans his leg in against Halford (albeit forcefully), he doesn't 'kick out' and I don't see it as being dangerous or even 'violent'.
I agree that at worst this could only have been a yellow, particularly with some of the other fouls, against Kermo himself and the high tackle against Waggy went completely unpunished. It was a somewhat bizarre decision by the ref and his lino, but because it was a foul we cannot challenge it. So we have to let it go and hope that we can cope with Fuller and Haynes up front.
Cort on OS today says Kermo apologised to team. Not likely that would have happened if he felt he had been badly treated.
In truth, given CP said it should have been a red and Cort said Kermorgant apologised, then he probably did do it intentionally and out of frustration. But even so, what he did hardly constitutes 'kicking out'. Moreover given the speed with which it happened (right under the nose of both the ref and the lino), how on earth the lino 60 yards away on the other side of the pitch thinks he saw it is beyond me. My assumption is it was Halford and the Forest players response which caused the dismissal.
It wasn't bad, but by the law he had to go. He might as well have kicked him properly if he was that frustrated. Stupid thing to do- we might have already been outplayed but now we lose him for 3 of the last 11 games.
Enjoyed watchin the game highlights on sky sports, where the linesman as described as being in a much better position (you know on the other side of the pitch). Certainly a foul a bit unlucky to see red IMO.
shame we[the players and supporters] didnt respond in similar fasion when Stephens was assaulted early on against Sheff wed .Much more deserving of sending off IMO
Disagree chingford as much as sometimes it sways decisions I prefer my players to keep a cool head on their shoulders rather than mobbing the opposition and/or ref every time there's a stick up their arse about something
Was disgusting, watched it over and over, it was the forest players that got him sent off no the challenge, IMO usually that would be a talking to to both Kermit and Halford basically saying "calm ya t!ts and move on".
However much the ref was swayed by the reaction of Halford, and the Forest players surrounding the ref, under the letter of the law it was a red card offense. Under the letter of the law Halford should also be punished for retaliation, and Forest should be reported for failing to control their players. Kermit would have been perfectly entitled to go down after Halford's barge, who knows we might have seen 2 red cards then.
I wasn't there but it happened right below where I sit and my mate thought it was thoroughly deserved. I've only seen the SSN coverage and I thought that technically it was a red card offence if a tadge on the harsh side. I also don't quite get the amount of bile about Halfords reaction. It didn't look all that on the telly. But as I say, I wasn't there.
I don't see what's wrong with kicking Greg Halford at all and it certainly shouldn't be a red card offence, yellow maybe but that's all never a red card. We need a rule change to make it within the rules to kick him
