Interesting that the 3 goalscorers last night, Kermogant, Moussa and Waggy are all unlikely, you woiuld think, to be in the starting line-up for the first game of the season. Personally I think that is a good measure of how far we have come on from the Nigel Pearson era. Can't wait for the season to begin.
I think Kermorgant will leave, Moussa will probaly go out on loan again and Waghorn will probaly be a squad player
It would appear to me, and I am in Australia so have got no idea, that the side put out last night was the second eleven. how many of those players would be first choice? Oakley, Abe, Waghorn, all maybe. In my opinion none of the rest will get close to being first choice. It will be interesting to see the next team put out on the park, more likely to be filled with likely starters I think.
Tbh, the team last night were trying to win their place on the sub bench imo, im surprised not 1 of St Ledger, Bamba or Mills had a full game last night.
Yesterday was very much the second string. It was just a fitness exercise though, I wouldn't read too much in to the Schlupp thing. In fact I've got a feeling Sven played him there to teach him some discipline, whilst still giving him a chance to show his pace. I don't expect any of that 11 to start against the Chavs, though I think Sven hasn't decided whether the individuals of that 11 will play a small role, a significant role, or no role at all.
Arrothefoxinoz: in Melbourne, we have connected previously on 606. Good to hear that your still out and about. Hows the 4X?
I think the surprise is that he is still at the club! Seriously though, I think he has shown glimpses of the ability he needs to stay and do well...just a shame about "that penalty". If you erase that from your memories, he did look half decent when he played last year...
Forgetting 'That Penatly': Leicester appearances: 20 Leicester Goals: 1 Whilst on Loan: Arles-Avignon appearances: 26 Arles-Avignon Goals: 3 You do the maths!
Has flashes looking decent, but is he a player that will really push us to promotion ? Think he may have a decent season at a different Championship club, and gain the respect of their supporters. Dont think that would happen at the King Power Stadium
interesting debate - for me, prior to the penalty, I thought he looked a decent technical player - I suspect that he could well surprise, particularly surrounded by the sort of quality that we now have.
He has not been forgiven by a large nuber of fans. He will be heavily booed if he makes an appearance at Filbert Way. I can't see it working out.
Firstly, if Sven DOES decide to keep him, I for one will definitely support him and won't be booing him like sections of the Kop and the 'Standers Block' will inevitably do. As for whether he is good enough, I'm undecided. As said before, he has shown glimpses of genuine skill (I remember a shot he had against Plymouth - would've been goal of the season if it had gone in) and the one goal he did score was a beaut, but he was inconsistent and didn't do enough for the team. It could be that he is not the outright striker we imagined he might be - Sven played him in an attacking midfield role against Sirius (OK, they were a Swedish third div side, but still) and he seemed to do well. I certainly don't see him being a regular next season, but if we want to compete in cup matches as well, we'll need a big squad and maybe he could be an asset?
