QPR are considering a move for Stoke striker Kenwyne Jones. Manager Neil Warnock is eager to sign up to five players next month and wants the majority to have Premier League experience.
Jones, 27, is growing frustrated at his lack of opportunities to start, with Peter Crouch and Jon Walters forming a strong partnership.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis is looking to add two players and is keen on VVV Venlo striker Michael Uchebo and Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha.
Although Zaha is likely to go elsewhere, the fact Pulis is looking for more strikers will not improve Jones' chances at Stoke.

Warnock has money to spend and, while the likes of Bobby Zamora and Jermain Defoe may be on his wishlist, Jones could be a more realistic target and give QPR a greater physical presence.
Warnock reiterated he may allow Adel Taarabt to leave if the club receive a realistic offer. The Moroccan has been linked with Paris St Germain.

Forgive my intrusion but I am a big, big Kenny fan from his days with us, but.

He is the most frustrating player, world class on his day but sadly those days are few and far, he is so laid back he is asleep.

Keano tried to get him to play, then Bruce and now Pullis, all failed so good luck if you go for him.

    Not for me.

Trying to sign someone who is three of four in the pecking order of the top clubs is one thing, but signing someone who is way down the list of a lower mid-table team seems silly. He is that far down the list at Stoke for a reason.

Would be more happy with a top championship player than a Stoke throw-away.

I remember us playing Chelsea at our place and John Terry saying that Kenny was the hardest player he had played against and that was the frustration. He is like a brick **** house and the nicest man you could wish to meet. Just so laid back that if he did not fancy it then that was it.

As Zamora looks like he is on his way to Sunderland, maybe Warnock see's Jones as the next best thing.
Is he any better than Bothroyd though?

cant see Zamora coming North TBH and for all Kennies faults I would still have him back. Many of Bents goals came because of Jones, he always takes 2 defenders away and makes space.

Why would we want him if Defoe and Johnson are done deals?

Mmmm. Syd says he goes missing in games, but he's still a fan and would have him back if it was down to him. That says a lot.

Problem is, it's said strikers tend to fade at 25... Clearly not in all cases (HH, Crouch, Drogba etc.).

However, even on form, strikers are only as good as the service they get. With us, we need Traore on the wing putting crosses over - and a Charlie Adam-type midfield presence driving forward from the middle of the park. Not much chance of that since Warnock seems to be concentrating on a striker and a centre back...

Haven't checked the stats but pretty sure he'd be our second top scorer even though his chances have been limited.

Yes for me. The idea of Defoe and Jones up top seems like a fantastic dream and not a reality.

    Fingers crossed....

On his day Jones can be unplayable, trouble is there aren't too many of 'his' days...

I think we need a bit of aggression up front and if KJ were playing regularly then he would be my choice if he can come at the right price.

Last couple of points are fair - he'd have to come for half the 10M that Stoke paid for him.
