The site is a joke, it really is and who does Steven Wolfe think he is? He wrote that Gillingham had signed Stuart Foster as opposed to Stuart Nelson/Tommy Forecast. What a ridiculous mistake to make. Its shoddy journalism. Also, as someone as said with the Damian Reeves story ''written by Steven Wolfe'' its just a copy and paste from the Altrincham site. Is he the same guy who copies and pastes everything for Gills Connect? <grr>

Although copy & paste is common place on the internet, in my opinion it is not a good professional way of going about your business, I certainly would not like it if someone did it to one of my articles.

It is copyright infringement, one of the issues is that it is unlikely that someone will come after you unless they have sufficient resources to do so. The reporting of news is NOT copyright but actually lifting someone else's article without their permission is.

Most news publications would probably only come after you if you have stolen pictures. Simply because in the world of news, pictures exchange hands for money.

Also note with the Reeves stories, although I could see the site mentioned in several publications, I failed to spot a link back to the original story (not sure if that is required). In reference to your particular mention of the KSN article it was old news by the time they reported it. I received a direct message about the Reeves activity between 4-5pm, most sites were posting/reporting/publishing the news just after 5pm, however, that KSN report I noted was timed at 8.30pm!

I could run these type of stories all day long for not606, however, I choose not to because I believe it is not a reputable thing to do.

it's just a question of naming the source.

from a copyright perspective there is no problem with running stories from other sites, even by copying and pasting the content(in fact its quite a cost effective way of offering a news service) the proviso is, however you name where you sourced the story in the intro and don't claim it as your own, a link is optional, but not always the best policy as you would be directing the reader away from you site. iI essence you are reporting on the story being reported.
