The development squad reached the final of the Kent Senior Cup tonight (going one better than last season) by beating Thamesmead Town 3-2 after extra time. Goals from ???, Gerard and Pigott. They will meet either Tonbridge Angels or Ebbsfleet in the final.

Nothing to set the pulses racing there perhaps, but still remarkable because the team was much the same as had played a tough match against Millwall on Monday afternoon.

    Phillips (unused Monday)

    Cousins (started Monday)
    Ajayi (sub Monday)
    Lennon (started Monday)
    Fox (started Monday)

    Harris (sub Monday)
    Jordan (started Monday)
    Poyet (started Monday)
    Gerard (unused Monday)

    Azeez (sub Monday)
    Pigott (started Monday)

I find it strange to risk so many again the next day and play extra time with the National play-offs still to come. I would have thought the club would have wanted to play more seniors who needed games like Evina, Taylor, Wagstaff and Kerkar. I note also Rouamba did not play (perhaps not eligible under the rules of the KSC?).

We led 2 - 0 and were pulled back to 2 -2. Not surprising if we tired, having played the previous day. But to then rally again and win in extra time shows these lads have stamina and spirit to go with their ability.

I must admit I was very surprised to see so many players play two games in two days.Perhaps Evina,Taylor,Hollands etc will be involved in some way against Boro_Or they are going to be leaving the club.

Ajayi was fit, but Lennon played ahead of him on Monday, so that seems to answer Eddie's question about the pecking order:
