Thinks the Government should subsidise ticket prices. I believe he was been serious.

What a ****ing dick, if proces are too high for people reduce them ya nugget!

Although I agree with you, the Government (the London one that is) is happy to subsidise opera so why not football?

Nonsense the money these things get go into venues and investment in people. They help sustain a cultural gap which is run at a minimal cost.

Football overpay players and managers, the directors themselves take massive salaries. We have 3 bodies overseeing the game at pro level and another 2 at semi pro level. Football has too many clubs, too many hangers on taking a wage, too much protection for the clubs in the leagues that are run poorly.

There are enough football fans willing to pay a reasonable amount of cash but too many people taking money out the game. It would be insane for the government to feed more cash into these people.

Have to disagree. Money should be diverted from opera and other upper-class twattery and put into football, especially paying to bring in quality foreigners and for building new stadiums etc. for SPL clubs.

C'mon, bite ya ****.

OK, I'm convinced!

A free Momo Syllia for every club in Scotland.

Or a free Henrik Larsson. You're not thinking outside the box Tom. Our clubs keep bringing through young, Scottish duds. Why waste money on them when their are much better options abroad?

Come on, keep biting.

Wonder what'd happen if Andrea Bocelli was 'relegated' to singing on the pub circuit? I'd imagine there'd be an outcry.

Opera needs a strong Bocelli <grr>

Screw the arts. There is a clump of cells between your skull which need stimulated - people who think their stimulation is of a higher quality, because some gay bloke is dancing about a stage in an obscure manner, need a slap.

I don't mean to be a contrary **** all the time but i am quite happy that the arts are subsidised.

I just don't think putting money into Opera Ballet or other performing arts is going to improve a country. If money is needed to be
got for arts, then why not let pop stars and other crazy money makers in that type of category transfer some of their wealth to
the struggling arts.
What government should do is encourage clubs to set up schemes jointly and evenly funded to take young boys and girls off
the street and coach football skills. I would be thinking the first two years after leaving schools, particularly without qualifications.
This could be a good step in preventing gangs roaming streets day and night. Society could be helped and so too could the football
clubs who join.
