I know, my title originally was 'Golden Boot' instead of shoe. Shoe just sounds weird. Mind you, we live in an age where the players wear pink boots <doh>

Off the top of my head it would go like this but I'm sure the more I think about it, the more changes I will want to make .... maybe ... possibly <laugh>

    GK RayClemence
    RB Phil Neal
CB Alan Hansen / Ron Yeats
    CB Sami Hyypia
LB Alan Kennedy / Emlyn Hughes
    LM John Barnes
    CM Graeme Souness
    CM Steven Gerrard
    RM Terry McDermott
    CF Kenny Daglish
CF Ian Rush ..... [I really want to say Roger Hunt here as well]

    Yes mate

"Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has been presented with the Golden Shoe trophy by his former Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish - and says he is ready for his El Clasico debut.

Suarez won the award - for scoring the most league goals in Europe - after netting 31 times for Liverpool last season, the same tally Cristiano Ronaldo managed at Real Madrid."

Must just be called Golden Boot for top scorer in our league, this is European so a shoe is a bit more fancy

  10. Golden boot is for individual competitions. Golden shoe is for the top scorer across Europe.

Obviously we're talking about all those players in their prime- not as they are now.

I'm **** at stuff like this, like when someone asks what's your favourite film/song/tv programme etc.
There are too many, and the more I think, the more I want to include.

JB's team looks pretty good, though Emlyn only filled in as LB in emergencies, as far as I remember.
I'd love to shoe-horn Suarez in there somewhere, even though he wasn't with us for long. Complete nutter though he was, watching him play last season got me consistently more excited about footie than I have been for years.

I thought that as well. Gerrard makes my all time XI - not the Gerrard as he plays today but not the Dalglish or Hansen as they play today either. I thought it was obvious 'in their prime' - surely it goes without saying.

Hughes was defensive mid or left-half - all these modern terms confuse me - so was unsure where to pair him but it's difficult enough choosing anyway.
