Apparently FSG are considering bringing KD back as an ambassador. Can't link as its a Times story. Was this not what happened before? Is this slapping him in the face again? Does this put pressure on Brendan? Is this an adequate apology and recognition that he deserved better treatment than he got? If I was him I'd be torn between telling them go F yourselves to FSG and my love & loyalty & want to be around the club. If this doesn't bring MFG out he must be dead!
No one knows how FSG treated Kenny better than the man himself. So if he feels he can return then the Club and fans will welcome him back with open arms.
Publicity stunt to get fans on board who now realise FSG would rather hell freezer over than spend cash Should be interesting to see if Kenny goes for it.Now its been leaked would be a REAL BLOW for FSG if he told them to sling there hook
agree with Ziggy and hope DayDo theory is wrong. Kenny loves the club too much, so if he feels its in the clubs best interest he will return, just hope its not for the reasons DayDo suggested.
It would be great to have Kenny back in such a 'high' role because he has nothing but the right intentions for the club, and we need that kind of figure at that level. He may be given many powers in terms of board room decision making, but his presence and status commands instant respect. I think Brendan once said that he would welcome Kenny back. If Kenny decided not to go for it, I wouldn't blame it at all. But I think his love for the club is far greater and I hope he does come back.
i honestly think it was arranged at the time of him leaving. kenny is the sort to have said he should stay away fro a period of time so a new manager has freedom from cameras pointing a tthe guy who won a trophy while he is in 12th i nthe league. lets see what happens.
Agree with Zingy that if he feels he can help he may well say yes. Personally I'd love it obviously and this time around I don't think it would pressure Rodgers because we all know Kenny wouldn't be offered the job even if BR was struggling.
Kenny was ambassador before and it was fantastic. He was good at the job and FSG liked him in the role - it was a perfect fit. Does this put pressure on Brendan? No, it didn't Rafa and I think both Kenny and FSG know that he wont be taking charge of the team any time soon. We don't know how things were left between Kenny & FSG, what we do know is John W. Henry said there was always a plan for Kenny to step aside when the right manager came though, Rodgers is the right manager so it's all good
nobody knows what went on between fsg and kenny as kenny never mouthed off at it. the only thing we know is they sacked him and he was not i nthe stands since. we just do not know. it could be kenny looking after the new man or him not liking fsg i don't know and nobody knows. I'd prefer it to be done on the lfc website or tv before being in papers and would like to think at least its not a kite being flown.. i'd "like" to think the club stayed in conctact with kenny over the intervening period. who knows.
As the voice in the clouds used to say on tv "The decision is yours" - well it is for Kenny anyway. None of us know the detail of the package that was negotiated between FSG and Kenny and it is testament to both parties that nothing has ever leaked. Therefore we can only speculate that Kenny's apparent re-emergence had already been agreed. However, I agree with others that Kenny himself would have wished his replacement to be firmly installed before he took on any role.
Perhaps KKs family doesnt even know, as his son Paul as had a couple of sly digs at BR on twitter already
paul is too open on twitter... his pops probably cut him off from the juicy stuff. don't follow him myself now you understand. i guess its a wait and see type thing. though in the build u pto the big game some hack could jump on it and run a story about the manager being sacked or something as a result. if i were a press hack i'd deffo get column inches out of that one cos us reds would lap it up and some might even buy 50k papers to build a bed out of pic sof kenny returning for a thired time lol... no but seriously... who the hell knows.
If Kenny came back it would be because of his obvious ties to the club and a willingness to put that above the bullsh!t he put up with last year. Why not eh!
Thought this would be appropriate for MFG's impending appearance...
Absolutely, but he has issues around FSG and the dismissal of Kenny too. Bringing the King back could be seen in a good light by him but I suspect his dislike for FSG will shine through
