I was travelling down through Yorkshire's back roads to Whitby and looking for a nice picnic spot.

I turned down a remote, but beautiful, lane near a stream with lovely grassy banks.

We set up and were having a lovely time until a van, towing a closed trailer, arrived on the opposite bank.

They couldn't see us but we watched as they took half a dozen dogs out of the trailer and more from the back of the van.

All the dogs were allowed five minutes, to shyte, then herded into the trailer.

The van drove off, leaving the trailer, and I reported them to everyone I could think of ...

... the slogan on the trailer said something like, 'Walks in the countryside while you're on holiday'.

12 dogs x £50 a day is what a good solicitor would charge.

The moral of the story is 'Only trust recommendations from people on here'.

We use Foxton Wood kennels at Sedgefield. Wouldn't take my 2 shepherd's anywhere else. Brilliant staff photos or videos of the dogs exercising everyday if you want them. Lovely setting 2 big paddocks for them to run in. Can mix or be exercised on their own depending on what you want.

When I lived in Washington we used to use Tarril boarding kennels, South Hylton.

Ferry Farm Boarding kennels, South Hylton. Our staffie went there every year and loved it (and they loved him). Fantastic staff.
