https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.mi...ewcastle-snap-up-chelsea-outcast-10960463.amp Is he Guna make it!? Will he manage it? Will he cross the fabled line!?!? I'm happy with this if it comes off, Benitez already confirmed there'll be another striker. Teams setting up ok, fair bit of risk in their mind Edit: he's played 2 games in last two seasons. Benny better be sure of his fitness
Seems very underwhelming if he is meant to be our first choice striker. Suspect he is here as back up if Gayle is injured and/or as an impact sub.
The Mirror article calls him a winger. Transfermarkt say he's a left back. And Wikipedia says he's a left midfielder and occasional left back. Certainly not going to play up front then. The jury's certainly out on him since he's played less than 2000 mins of pro football in his career but it won't hurt to have him as another option in midfield and you just hope if he comes good we have an option to buy.
Played in 2 games last season (one for Chelsea and one for Watford) but he had a lengthy knee injury. The season before he made 14 league appearances and 6 in the cups (mostly subs). He's only 21 though and he's been at Chelsea so it's understandable not getting the team so much.
I think you've had it drummed in your head because it's all this boards spoke about for the last two week
Yeh I'd say worth a punt, backup option if winger, sure I read somewhere he was AM. Waiting to find out someone heard he plays in net. This must be a transfer Benitez has pursued, using the old Chelsea connections
When I read about his China faux pas a few weeks ago I had a look at him on transfermarkt as a potential signing but his stats don't really reveal a lot. For Chelsea to sign him he probably has something about him.
His loan signing should go down well with our new sponsors: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jul/25/chelsea-kenedy-china-tour-sent-home
Decent addition but hasn't done much since arriving in England. Injuries and competition have made it tough. I think he will be out No.10. Can't see him being back up to Atsu (left midfield does look his natural position)
Did exactly the same, but can't quite work out this signing. Why bother helping one of Chelsea's get better when we have a left sided, injury-prone, 21 year old winger already at the club? Nothing I have read leads me to believe Kenedy is any better than Aarons. Or Atsu, Murphy, Ritchie. Rafa's wingers have replaced Pardew's left backs. Only alternative theory is putting RItchie and/or Murphy through the middle as an alternative to SDJ/Diame, as we clearly can't find a first team-quality No. 10.
His main position is left back according to transfermarkt. Competition for Dummett would make the most sense - this seasons Lazaar (but hopefully better). Will be interesting to see if we have an end of season purchase option as with Merino. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kenedy/profil/spieler/281404
Probs the old left wing back, then? I do wonder if we'll move to 3 at the back? Maybe not from day one, but into September when the group is set in stone?
Much prefer him to come in as a option upfront than Perez and can cover all the AM/wing positions. Don't believe he's a LB, I'm sure Chelsea have probably thrown him out there for the odd game or two but he's much better going forwards. This lad was the mainstay of my world domination on FM 2014/15, was winning 5-7 cups a season by 2020/21 and this lad banged in 35-40 per season across all competitions playing as a Deep Lying Striker or Left Inside Forward. Don't want to sound deluded but if he signs we will win the treble this year...
If there is an option to buy, great. If it not at least we can loan out aarons to get him a season hopefully injury free. 40 games could be the making of him long term.
I think we could really do with a fit Aarons as an option for us this season rather than loaning him out.
