I agree with every single point on this article. Of course I notice the comments below saying that this just makes it harder to get the evil bastard out and we're deliberately letting Gradel, Howson and Snodgrass' contracts run down etc. It's like the Jon Stewart sign: "I disagree with you but I'm pretty sure you're not Hitler".
i suppose thats a fair comment but i dont think he is running the club into the ground like everyone is saying, i think that for the time being he is the right kind of person to run the club. obviously everyone could be better at there jobs but i think he's doing alrite, its more a case of people need to moan about something...
He has good points and bad points IMO. Is definitely the right kind of man to run the club at the moment, but moving forward... we'll see.

Josh...I'm a Bates fan and supporter.....always have been and as far as im concerned I have seen no evidence that he is doing anything but helping and stabilising us too many people jump on the hate bandwagon and spout a lot of drivel about things they actually know nothing about I like him and I hope he stays...i belive he cares about this club and I choose to belive he will do right by us Im probably opening myself up to people having a dig at me so anyone who is thinking about calling me...**** off!!! hahahahaha
100% agree with SWW. Some people seem to have a stalkerish attitude towards Bates, where their judgement has now been entirely clouded by their personal dislike of him.
im not a fan but i appredciate what he has done for us, i think people need to moan about something and he is the easiest target
Whatever his motives I think he does honestly want to get us in the PL and move us forward as a club. If that's just to make some money I don't really care as long as it's for the good of the club.
There's no middle ground when it comes to KB. He reminds me of a typical grumpy 79 year old man, he just says what he thinks (which I must admit I find it very amusing) and he also does as he pleases. He's been around long enough to have seen it all and doesn't intend to be taken for a ride by primadonna footballers.
Some people don't look at the whole picture, they just see that we have been promoted and did well in the Championship. On the business side, they only see what Bates has allowed the media to report, not the whole truth, especially the waste of cash on business projects that are dated, not required and financially not viable. Bates and his partners, have simply one thing in mind, to maximise their own profits from all aspects of the club, this includes selling players to keep their own profit margins to an acceptable level. When Bates dies (which will happen, even he can't stop that), perhaps the whole truth will come out, until then we will just have to lump it.
mY VIEWS ON bates WILL never alter I think he treats fans players and the media with complete distain if I were the press I would completely boycott him .i think what hes done to radio Leeds was dispicable along with the treatment to the grandma he banned and the things he said about Schmichel having made a £1m= out of him Leeds TO HIM IS JUST A CASH COW NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS his pricing of young fans means we will not have the support in future years because they simply can,t afford to watch their local team I wish he would just take an hike
Bates was & is only interested in Bates IMO , but it's only an opinion . He needs to spend huge this season , the rank & file deserve it & Bates needs to show financial commitment toward promotion !!
so you guys seriously are too narrow minded to see that he has got and kept us financially stable, regardless of what people say, he doesnt 'just' sell players, if grayson didnt want schmeichal to go, he wouldnt have gone and we would've sold gradel and snoddy by now along with every p,layer of any worth, i also truly believe that every player we sell, the money goes in for other transfers, whether that be wages or transfer fees. Bates talks his mind, he has genuine interest in the performance of leeds united as well as the success and as well as everything in leeds. He is by far not the worst chairman in the world, i dont know what he can do within reason to win you guys over You guys will only be happy when a russian billionaire takes over the club and uses it as a toy to buy every player and his mate
My mind is set in stone, until Ken Bates sells the club Leeds will never be a competing team in the premier league. For me there is nothing the guy can do to win me over, I don't believe his genuine interest stretches any further than how much the club can make in a 12 month spell.

I hope you are right, I have supported Leeds since 1971, lots of ups and downs and lots of changes along the way. The premier league now is split into three, the top 5 who can spend 20 million on a player, the chasing bunch who season after season battle it out for 6th to 10th and the bottom half who will pop in and out like your West Ham, West Brom, Sunderland and Birmingham... With Ken Bates in charge we are only ever going to compete with the teams outside the top 10. Sure we might make it into the top half one season but we are just as likely to be battling in the bottom 5. It sounds doom and gloom before we even get there but you have to face the facts. With KB in charge we cannot attract the players we once could, we cannot offer wages to compete with those around us and each year the divide gets bigger and bigger.
Whether we like it or not..... Bates saved the club... All the big talk from other people came to nothing..... We owe him a debt of gratitude for that...... In terms of now.... Yes if would be great to have a bigger wage pot and throw a couple of million as Leicester have done... But bates is not like that and I believe he is not a stupid guy... Nobody knows....but him what he intends to do but I get the feeling knowing a little about him he is a proud man who wants to get us back to the prem...but he also make his money when we do.. He will sell us I'm sure oaf that...but he will only make his money if we are a perm club... I don't see he has done anything to damage our club... But for sure there are allot and a long list of people who have...... Back off bates...
