If it was only their word against his it shouldn't have gone to court. A terrible tragedy for the women if he did do it.
Now we will have to suffer the avalanche of bullshit that follows his acquittal, how this was a witchunt blah blah blah.
To be fair, his first quoted comment after the trial was: You can bet that if DLT gets off, he'll come out the court giein' it laldy. Maybe Roache's response show he's a clever rapist but it's not a particularly vindictive quote. DLT, though (unless his lawyers stop him), will blame all sorts if he gets off.
If I was falsely accused of rape and found not guilty I would be giving it laldy anaw. It must be horrible having the whole world thinking you're guilty of rape (be honest, that's what most people assume in these cases) and knowing you're innocent and having to go through all that because some vindictive women wants her 15 minutes of fame.
Probably true, mind you DLT's witnesses are hardly convincing, I hald expected Bernie Clifton to be called.
I'm most people and I won't pretend that I believe he is completely innocent, if it had been one woman making the accusations then perhaps I would believe him (as in the case of Michael le Vell) , but when there are a queue of people making the same or similar claims there will always be doubt.
Surprise, surprise You weren't there. You didn't hear all the evidence. The jury did. They found him innocent.
So the Jury found him innocent, does that mean he is completely innocent in your mind? Is that enough to convince you that the allegations made by numerous women were completely false? He's innocent under Law, that does not mean he's completely innocent does it?
Yes Yes Yes it does. Next... I mean, for **** sake, you want to assume he's guilty of something for **** knows what reason. Transferred guilt perhaps?
They should have a Ken Barlow rape storyline in Corrie ... but it's him that gets raped and his "attacker" gets off with it. Not like Bill Roache - he is an innocent man.
