Kelly is reported as wanting £45k a week to stay at LFC. He is 22 yrs old and has had major injuries which have restricted his appearances lately, but putting that aside do you feel that because Sterling was given such a good deal all our youngsters will start asking for daft wages. I am a great believer in paying what a player is worth no matter what his age, but really hate the agents argument that because one player in a team has a certain wage then his client should get similar because they are the same age etc. I still think we have overpaid for Sterling who has looked awful in recent games. I know he is still young and may come good but if you are earning that kind of money at such a young age does it not kill ambition and there is a risk of the player thinking he has made it and can sit back.
reported in Daily Fail at 45k other rags at 41k. LFC have apparently offered similar to Sterlings deal which is around 22k a week plus 10k appearance money per game which seems more than enough and at least gives some incentive to perform so you get picked for the first team.
I heard that last night. Although if true its not great, it is only expected after Sterling got £40k per week
I like Kelly as a player and this may well be absolute bullshit so not going to slag him off for something reported in The Fail on Sunday. All I'll say is no young player who struggles to play more than half a season due to injuries should ever be offered that sort of money unless they can prove their fitness long term.
Wouldn't say Kelly is in a great negotiating position at the moment. If he's not carefully he'll get himself sold. If these stories are true that is
The simple question is would Kelly get that anywhere else? With his injury record he won't be snowed under with offers so I highly doubt it. Offer him a reasonable weekly figure with a good bonus package for when he does play.
haven't a clue mate sorry, but don't players normally start contract neg when 18 months or so left on their contract?
Can't stand agents. Money grabbing ****s. That said, I'm not sure Kelly is in a good negotiating position atm.
I'll give you £2.63 and half a bag or Quavers ( note its literally half a bag, no actual crisps as they are part of your lucrative bonus package* ) * Bonus package consists of said crisps and some pogs
That's slave labour - minimum wage must be about £6 per hour?? Stick your ****ing quavers up your arse, pickled onion monster munch and a deal might be on
