Very interesting listen and if he's right then maybe people like me are getting worried over nothing but then again this is Bristol City and we always expect turmoil and angst. Let's see where the chips fall but certainly it was a positive approach from a team that has been very silent over the summer. Lets hope things are going to get better - we deserve it don't we?
Yes it is interesting if what he is saying is how it will be in the future. If it is just rhetoric, then no because we have heard all these fine ideals so many times before. If we are to see genuine progress from our Academy, then this season, the three leading contenders, Bryan, Burns and Reid need to be in the starting line up for at minimum, 50% of matches. Not bit part sub's! And we should also be seeing another two or three like Batten making a half a dozen starts with at least the same number of sub appearances. On the recruitment side, he appeared to be saying, just like Shiny, that we have signings already agreed that will be announced by 1st July when new contracts begin. We've had too many false dawns at City. Why should this year be any different? Maybe I am not the pessimist I think I am.
