Sorry, separate thread as this one seems to have almost reached fruition. An article from the Kansas City website, to that effect. http://www.kansascity.com/2013/01/30/4039012/sportings-kamara-to-start-year.html?
Here's the official kansas statement. http://www.sportingkc.com/news/2013/01/sporting-kc-loans-kei-kamara-norwich-city
Announced on the Official site now. Loan until 6 May with an option for a permanent if it works out. Also, Becchio said to be in Norwich for a medical with Morison to have talks with Leeds. A long wait but at last it's happening!
http://www.sportingkc.com/news/2013/01/letter-robb-heineman This is the letter from, (I think), the CEO at Kansas to their fans. Great piece of communication explaining why the deal has happened, and clearly he values the player.
I think Kamara is the type that will be great in the dressing room. Seems confident, a bit cocky and obviously gunning for a dream in the premier league. We'll give him a shot, all we ask in return is a ****-ton of goals. Seems fair to me lol
Obviously youtube isn't a good place to know what some one is like, but I quite liked this vid and he comes across as a good guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pod04Atj3pg
Seems very likeable. Hope he starts well that the fans get behind him, there's a bit of disappointment on twitter but I think this could be a shrewd deal.
The loan-to-buy is a really good idea I think. Whilst we've paid for it, it means if he's a flop we've spent less than we would have done, and if he's a success he won't cost us much more than he would have done to buy outright. It's hard knowing how MLS players will adapt, so seems like really shrewd business. Hopefully he'll be a good addition to the side.
Must admit I got my hopes up with Wolfswinkel, so I can understand some people being a little disappointed. But I doubt anyone knows too much about Kamara, he might end up being brilliant for us, you never know. I'm fully behind him.
I think that this and the Becchio move would in themselves create a bounce to lift the squad for the rest of the season. If another deal, like Curtis Davies or Hooper/VW should also come off then the effect is even greater. I'm much relieved. OTBC!
SO EXCITED Transfer Deadline day is here! It is the one time when we can go mental and suggest crazy potential signings Kei Kamara > Kane, so that's a start. On another note, just my opinion, but Tettey (i think, made a sideways lunge and clipped him) is to blame for Bale's goal....if he had fully taken him out, it would have been a yellow card maximum. 2 points dropped IMO
