According to Sky Sports City have put in a bid for an African Striker Kei Kamara, does anyone know anything about him? All I know is he plays in the MLS but don't know if he'd be good enough for the premier, hope he is.
http://aol.sportingnews.com/soccer/...-citys-fate-rides-on-a-rejuvenated-kei-kamara This is a decent article on Kei, who seems to be a strong character. Not prolific, but I've seen some youtube footage which shows several really good assists. Get the impression that he's a bit like Holt, with quite a bit to his game. Wouldn't say no; this has to be partly based on trusting our scouts. Possibly our 'out of the left field' signing for this window a la Tettey.
Surely we can do better than this ? A bit of a climb down from the Hooper and Graham links ! I know we've had to shop in Aldi and Lidl for the past few seasons, but come on FFS
Very good article Gorlestongirl. I especially liked this bit: "Blessed with size, speed and a nose for goal (he leads MLS in shots), Kamara likely is the lone SKC player with the ability to change the way Houston defends...That leaves Kamara, 28, who has the ability to put a defense into disarray with a well-timed run down the flank, the strength and will to create chaos the penalty area and a willingness to shoot from just about anywhere." Presumably, if a bid has gone in then he has been scouted over several games. Personally speaking, I'm not sure I'd want the players Pulis wants. Be interesting to see if anything comes of this one.
Kamara tweeted a couple of hours ago, something along the lines of: 'A great day to be a Pro. All these talks give me goosebumps'. May be something or nothing; who knows.
This Stoke link is irrelevant, Pulis obviously didn't want him, and he also didn't want Demba Ba. I have complete faith in Hughton and Chester.
We are also reported to be after Jamie Mackie from QPR. Can't get excited by either Kamara or Mackie but at least we are keeping our spending down to the bargain basement again. After a reported £10m in offers we now appear to be spending about half of this. Disappointed in this news as I really thought we would invest for the future and Prem survival. IMO these two are no better than Jackson and Morison so why spend on them at all?
I like mackie also, don't think he has had a fair opportunity at qpr, better than Moro and Jackson IMO
Just read the blog site 'vital - football' on Newsnow Norwich. Sums up the whole transfer scenario clearly and expresses the sentiments that many, including myself, have written on this site.
Jackson has never given anything less than 100%, though I would also be very happy if we signed Mackie. As for this bloke from the MLS, a load of people on here kept saying how they wanted us to sign a striker from abroad, without actually justifying how we would become aware of such a player or giving any examples themselves; like these players just appear on the doorsteps of Premier League clubs. Then, when we are actually linked with a player who plays his football abroad, you say you're underwhelmed? What?
Not sure who you've been reading saying to look abroad and not give example. Myself and #bighairywinger have come up with a fair few names e.g Nicklas Helenius, Andreas Cornelius, Alfred Finnbogason. They are some that I said and I know BGW named a few as well.
