Just what is this sickening complaint
That´s keeping the ´wolf´ from our door,
He´ll need all the patience of a saint
Having to wait for his next score

How long has it been with this toe
    That stubbornly refuses to heal,
One thing for certain, I know
When it does, he´ll be the real deal

    Especially now Hooper is fine
The chance for us to see them both,
Was there, but van Wolf´s thumbs down sign
Is enough to make one swear an oath

Frustrating for him, must be too
As a new club and new league awaits,
But if we can keep battling through
We should look forward to later dates

When hopefully he will be fit
And more than ready to play a part,
The potential´s there to be a hit
He just needs to get a regular start

So if we can get something at ´Toon´
    Then ´do a West Ham´ over Palace,
    Having him back anytime soon
Ought to make our mid-table foes jealous. OTBC

    Get well soon Mr. Wolf

I find it very worrying RBF, he was allegedly close for the Wet Sham game, to find he is still not ready is of extreme concern!

Is worrying dave, and not much coming out of the club as to details, which could mean something, or nothing, keeping my fingers crossed we see him sooner rather than later.

Remember the picture of him on crutches but then he played 3 or 4 days later, I'm guessing that with Gary Hooper injured at the time he was played when he would't have been otherwise. The trade off from that is that his recovery time has far increased and I'm sure he has now been wrapped in cotton wool until he is 100% better and Hooper and Wolfie can see if they can strike a partnership.

Bath - I´m sure you´re right, but does anyone know the exact nature of the injury, seems very strange, normally we´re at least told that it´s a muscle strain, or a hamstring that´s gone, or whatever, but here it´s all very quiet. Probably nothing sinister in it, but would be interesting to know what´s wrong with him.

i understand ricky has 'turf toe' (i'd never heard of it until now) but its meant to be one of those tricky little injuries to get over. some sportspeople are forced to retire due to it! we just need to be patient and let him regain full fitness, otherwise we'll only make it worse (as indeed we may already have done by playing him for four or five games with the injury) <doh>

O/T but that sportsmedicine article mentions footballers routinely taping their toes to guard against toe injuries (much like boxers tape their hands). One way of ridding the sport of shirt tugging would be to tape footballers' hands for the duration of a game. Would cut out a lot of illegal stuff that seldom gets properly penalised. <ok>

I think the backroom staff have been feeding the wolf 20kg of raw red meat, and making him dead lift. He's going to come back twice as strong and a bit heftier.

Pity you're not coming up for the game today Dave, I had 10 pints lined up for you.

For those of you coming up, it's dry at the moment but a bit on the cold side. Wear a sweater under your team tops, that's what I'll be doing.

Make them wear boxing gloves, that would help a bit.
