Looking hopeful because where would he go?

The megabucks clubs would go for someone like the Dortmund guy or Mourinho. On the other hand, why would Lambert leave for one of the clubs who may sack their managers even if they stay up (Blackburn, Bolton)? He'd have to start all over again for no reason with clubs that can't offer anything more than we can. Celtic have won the league and Rangers are not going to be a threat for a while, so Scotland looks safe, too. Sunderland have got O'Neill now. Moyes looks totally secure at Everton, especially if he can land the Cup.

So there's only a few dangers left. I suppose Spurs could go for Lambert if 'Arry goes to England, but I think they're more likely to go Continental or for Rodgers because of all the superlatives he gets from the media about the way his team plays. If King Kenny gets airlifted up to Director of Football, I doubt if Liverpool fans would accept Lambert (not big enough to manage Liverpool blah blah blah) and anyway, as always, even the ones who want to replace KK seem stuck in the past and say they want Rafa back. (Liverpool FC - the Land that Time Forgot).

So that probably just leaves Villa, who will surely get rid of Mr Negative Football at some point. They are a bigger club than us historically, but what are their finances like now? Could they tempt Lambert away with a huge salary and/or transfer budget? Seems unlikely - it looks as if clubs are finally starting to realise the stupidity of paying wages they can't afford.

So it looks as if Lambert may be sticking around for a while and we can all hope for even better times ahead, especially as we have more and more to offer young players and so land ones like Howson and the new Bennett.

It's a simple process of elimination and whether he would leave a club where everythings going well and he has total footballing control and complete backing from the fans and board.

He's the envy of most managers in this country

Let's face it, our expectations have gone up a country mile now - where I say I, I mean all Norwich fans not just us on not 606.with my glass half empty, he may struggle to meet these expectations, you never know

Glass half full view is that he has lots more to achieve at Norwich, and as above, he won't go to a champions league club yet.

The way I look at it, by the squad and signings he's been making it shows signs of he isnt going anywhete as of yet. This is his project, his team and he's adored by the fans... Why on earth would you build such a decent young squad as to how you want it just to leave and start from scratch?

How about Newcastle if Pardew was to move on ? Would he consider an offer from a German club ? I think he could be a future Man U manager in a couple of years when Fergie goes.

BBC have a short snippet of interview with PL and underneath say that he is preparing for an even stronger 2nd season. I'm looking forward to seeing the interview tomorrow.

I think this is spot on Beef he says it in many interviews about how quickly things can change and he obviously appreciates what he has created, I also believe he is a very modest man who will think deeply about what he has achieved and how he has achieved it and will know he would not have the freedom at a bigger financial clout club where the money men would screw up his thought process and demand him to buy instant success etc. Never listen to Canary Call Mr Lambert we all love and trust in you stay for 30 years at least I'll most probably be dead by then so I wont care anymore lol!

I think he will stay at Norwich for at least one more season. However he is ambitious and I would not be surprised if he at some stage took on a coaching job overseas, maybe Germany since he trained as a coach there. A successful stint overseas would round off his CV and put him in line for one of the top CL club jobs

All this talk of Lambert moving on. What if the club matches what he wants. Suppose the club do expand upto a 35,000 capacity. Could he not do a Nottingham Forest with us as Cloughie did? Maybe not European champions, but certainly a better than average Premier league side for a good number of years. I hate to say this, but maybe a similar job to what Bobby Robson did down the road, albeit a number of years ago, he still did it with a 'smaller' club.

Not being funny but people were saying last season around Christmas time people were saying Lambert would move on. Around that time he turned down the chance to go to Burnley. This makes me think at this time of his career there is no chance of Lambert leaving Norwich. Though I do think there could be a fair few managerial changes this summer.

I don't think he will move on that quickly. There is so much potential at the club. He has ambition, but at this moment in time, the club are matching that ambition, giving him what he needs to accomplish the goal of making this a top club. I think, as been said elsewhere, that he'll want to stick around, and see the squad he has built realise it's full potential.

you've got a point though. I wonder if it possible for a smaller club to do something like that again in the age of money talks. It would be great wouldn't it, be it norwich, Fulham (actually, look at them they got to the Europa League final) or other.

The man is very pragmatic. He knows the score with football. Win and they love you, lose and you are out. There are a few exceptions but we aren't one of those with our list of managers.
He said after the L1 campaign that if we struggled in the Championship, he realised some would shout Lambert Out. And he wouldn't blame them because its the fans club after all and owners and managers come and go. So I think he is the type who would fall on his sword if things went wrong. Conversely, he is ambitious. But at the moment his spiral is upward and in his 7 years of management he has improved himself. Livingston, Wycombe, ColU and now us is progression.
To be honest, there is only one more step in this country. And from what I observe, I think he is ideally suited to be the next ManU manager. He has many of Fergusons attributes and our manner of adapting styles suits very well with their style. The only F on his score is that he is reluctant under the spotlight. And the big clubs are always under that spotlight.

Personally, my biggest fear of losing Lambert would be either to a German club maybe or if the Everton job came up for instance. Moyes may well be a target for those looking to replace their manager. or as mentioned, maybe Villa.

The big 6 is unlikely. When was the last time one of the big 6 appointed a british manager? Newcastle have Pardew, but they were not in that position when they took him, ditto for Spurs and 'arry. If the Spurs, Chelsea or Liverpool jobs come up in the summer I don't think Lambert would be seen as 'sexy' enough and a foreign manager would be top target for all of them.

In the past few days he has done more talking up of Norwich than I can remember - 'little old Norwich', the comments about Holt and Ruddy for England etc.

What is not considered in this matter is the whether Lambert is actually happy at Norwich. He's been the manager here longer than anywhere else, he has won a trophy, he has led the team to successive promotions, he has pretty much a free hand, the club and has a stronger potential squad than the 'big teams' being linked to him, and the squad is of his making, he has a strong and supportive board (that doesn't interfere), at a club with a financial plan for growth.

it's obvious he's going to barcelona to replace pep guardiola, that's why he visited them earlier in the season, it was a job interview.
