Do we now have 4? Gulacsi (one-year loan) Devlin (played vs Winterton) Basso (heard he impressed NP) Oxley Can sb clear this up?
so it could be a decision bteween the two perhaps? NP saw Basso in Slovenia & vs N Ferriby, Devlin for 45 mins tonight.. you'd think the smart money was on Basso, can't see us having 4..
it would appear listening to np before the game a contract has been offered to basso and looks likely to be signed as for devlin he was released by man utd
Unless someone knows differently Oxley was out of contract in the summer as well. Maybe it's Gulasci on loan, Basso as 2nd choice, and one of Oxley and Devlin for 3rd?
They may send Oxley out on loan to bring Delvin in? Basso is currently staying at an hotel in the area, so must still be training with us.
I think if Devlin is good, it'd be worth running with 4 keepers for a season. Oxley and Devlin both young enough to justify it.
Because he's not very good? Or maybe he's using the friendlies as a chance to see how the trialists do in a game?
He has only played in senior games for Grimsby when loaned out by us (one or maybe two games) and that's it. Must be frustrating.
Sorry I should have worded that better. I meant why has he not played in pre-season yet? I wasn't suggesting for a minute that we should play him in the first team (though obviously I have nothing to judge him on)
When did he sign his extension? It's just the HCO list (check with OLM, he's the one that remembers where it is, I just remember copying it) had his original deal ending this summer.
Gulasci is No.1, Basso is No.2(he signed after the Ferriby game), Oxley is the reserve keeper and Cracknell is the youth keeper. Devlin is just on trial and I wonder if we might offer him a one year deal and play him in the reserves, so we can send out Oxley out on loan to get a full league season under his belt. Ricardo, I also thought Oxley's contract expired at the end of last season, but it seems that list was wrong and he does have at least another year to run.
