Yes we dropped two points but we are still top and effectively with our GD two games clear of West Ham. If we beat Palace and then Reading we wont be caught. Keep the faith. we can and will do this. We are Southampton and we are still

    TOP OF THE LEAGUE!!!!!

Not worried about the result, it was always going to be a tough game. My main concern is the injuries that are racking up.

Fair play to portsmouth, they played exactly the game they needed to, but where did those two strikes come from? Lucky ****s!

We need to find our form again quickly, this is not a good time to have another 'blip'.

From what I saw of the game I thought Pompey played as well as could be expected. They played as if they had nothing to lose, which in effect they hadn't, and that makes all the difference.

I'm kind of worried. I think a wobble is happening at exactly the wrong time.

They were two very good goals by Pompey, can't deny that.

    Or performance was below par.

Let's not worry too much yet, if we win at Crystal Palace all will be forgotten.

With nige in charge it will be ok derby matches are always tight and don't reflect quality. We can beat palace and if we do I don't see us not going up.

Think we need more energy in midfield from the start of the game. Be that De Ridder or Chaplow out wide instead of Guly.

Hammond & Cork played well together at start of the season, not that good today, although Cork ran his heart out. Spiderman is probably out for the rest of the season.

We win on Monday and world feels good again.

I targeted four points from this weekend, so whilst it does make Monday a must win, we are still in with a shout of achieving that.

Palace's defeat today completely ends their exceptionally slim play-offs chances, so they can afford to go on their holidays now. Fingers crossed therefore that they do exactly that. If the game was at St Marys, I'd have every confidence in us getting the three points. But being away, I do have some nagging nerves floating around.

If we win on Monday, it will become very difficult for WHU to get auto. Although not certain, the winner of the Saints/Reading match should win the title...and will deserve it. Still in our own hands with only 5 games to go.

Spot on Fran. It's in our hands not West Hams.

A win on Monday is essential now.

My flatmate supports Palace - he says they're already on their summer holidays. Up until the last few games, they had one of the tightest defences but also struggled with a lack of goals. They've been conceding loads though recently and Anthony Gardner (their best defender) is out for the season.

What worries me though is that we've not played well in the last few games. Posters on here like to laugh about West Ham's direct style of play, but we were very hoofy today.

Cannot worry about the past now with the games coming thick and fast. I agree with you that a winnable away game must be our focus now.
