Keep Delaney as he's good alongside an experienced partner. Martin seems useless to me, don't get why people like him so much!

Bowyer has done less than JET so far, but I'd keep both. Ellington looked alright at holding the ball up when he came on, so I'd keep him too. I'd also keep Peters because I'm a fan of his, but there you go.

Eventhough I still feel numb after yesterdays non performance it will be seen as a watershed for the Marcus Evans regime at the club. Surely even the mysterious one can not now stand back and let the car crash continue! Performances like we saw yesterday and last Tuesday night might start to have some serious business consequences for his group as a whole. Consider the fact that Marcus Evans is emblazoned on the players shirts (which most aren't fit to wear) and the amount of negative messages this must be sending out to his wider business in general. A seemingly basket case sporting franchise (which is what we have become) being made to look a complete laughing stock through pis poor management at the top right through to the players on the pitch.

How much longer can Evans sit back and allow this to go on without any kind of public statement or intervention on his part? The chickens have now come home to roost in his tenure as owner of the club. A willingness to remain aloof from the supporters and without a background in football making weird appointments such as a chief executive who knows nothing about how to run a football club. The only statement that we hear like a broken record is "This club remains totally focused on getting to the premiership at the soonest possible opportunity!" That sounds all good and well if there is a serious plan and strategy in place to deliver on the rhetoric. The David Sheepshanks/George Burley famous 5 year plan of improvement resulting in Premiership football worked on time and on budget. Unfortunately Evans and Clegg have no such plan in place and the club just seems to be stumbling around like an elephant in a dark room from one crisis to another.

To be honest I'm begining to think **** This! **** the premiership I just want my football club back. The football club that I have been supporting for nearly 40 years and still love to this day. I just want my club to go back to basics and reintroduce the famous scouting network we once had and the youth academy that produced an abundance of young talent. I want the club that used to give young, hungry players the chance to play in the first team and to express themselves on the pitch. The damage to our reputation has been badly dented throughout the Marcus Evans era and it surely must have become a toxic brand for Marcus Evans. Lets get back to basics and if that means severing the bonds with Evans then so be it. Our once proud football club is worth more than one person, it belongs to Suffolk as a whole and if it meant that we dropped a couple of leagues because of it then so be it.

Evans has a big decision to make over the next couple of weeks. Either he shows that he is in this for the long haul and hands Jewell the money to buy the quality players we so desperately need or he walks away and cuts his losses. A big couple of weeks in the history of Ipswich Town!

lancy, I find it hard to fathom why you would keep JET but not Martin. For me they are identical players. On their day they can be brilliant but normally you only see glimpses of talent and they are mainly ineffectual and lazy.
For me I would keep Stockdale, Ainsley (played out of position and young so will give him the benefit) Cresswell, Carson and Chopra.
The likes of Edwards, Delaney & Leadbitter I would be very happy if I never saw them ever again.
JET & Martin neeed consistancy or they too can gtf!
Andrews can score screamers but hasnt won me over

Because I saw on Saturday - I've seen it so often and I saw it one too many times on Saturday - he is brilliant at getting down the wing and beating defenders but he always wants to take the shot on himself when there are better options on, however hopeless the angle is and however many players are in the way. Remember very clearly late last season at Barnsley - Leadbitter was in the middle of the box with an open goal in front of him waving his arms and screaming and Martin looked up and then opted to shoot from a hopeless angle instead - the result of which was that instead of 2-0 Barnsley went down the other end and got an equaliser. Martin was completely at fault for one of the early goals when he stopped running back and let the full-back get in behind and you could see the look on his face was 'oh **** it'. So for all his undoubted skill he adds nothing to the team. Don't know how well he would help out his full back when played out wide but certainly the selfishness you don't get that with JET - he is always looking for square balls and lay-offs for his team mates and played a lovely ball into Chops which he didn't quite get on the end of.

spanish, this is more like it! i agree with most of those but i would keep delaney and peters, definately JET (cant bin him after 4 games), and i would give shane o'connor more of a look in and i dont really understand why we ever got nathan ellington.

In response to JWM's article: a very good piece with the whole Marcus Evans question an interesting point. I along with every ipswich fan i think, do find it very strange how after nearly 4 years we still have no clue about the man, and yes the decision to appoint simon clegg i think was very strange. How can you really expect a chief exec with no experience in football and a manager with only a couple of years of management experience to deliver the goods, so in that respect I think big mistakes were made.
However, I dont believe that there is no plan in place. just because we have had a few bad results does not mean we dont have a real plan/ambition to get to the premier league. surely the signings of chopra, stockdale, andrews prove this. The question i ask fans who are all doom and gloom this week (understandably) is if we are to win the next 3 games, will your tune change and will you think we suddenly have a good team? Paul Jewell has bough great talent into the team, i might be completely wrong here but i actually believe that we just need a couple of players at the back and on paper we have arguably one of the best teams in the league (a lot of pundits fancied us at only about 3 weeks ago), with in my opinion one of the most savvy managers you'll find. i may look back at this article in 6 months time and realise i was talking absolute s***e but i firmly believe we will turn this slump around. it may sound stupid but i actually think we are already on the road up.

Lancy, I feel they both need to become 90 minute footballers but fair play to you for your views

Martin has been a revelation since he's come back. The lino gave a throw for goodness sake, it was a yellow at absolute max !

The red card was neither here nor there Westlake - we were 4-1 down by then, the game was over. Shame he couldn't be bothered to cover his full back earlier when it mattered.
