Kedwell looks unfit and won t start again next saturday His mistake led to Exeter s winner. I like Kedwell but at the moment he should not start until he gets fitter.

In the time he played tonight he looked way off the pace and was caught in possession for the Exeter winner, his early season sparkle has vanished

He certainly made the error which led to the winning goal but for all his many limitations the team plays so much better with him in it. He has to be first name on the team sheet with Weston until there is a realistic alternative. His absence cost Gills the game tonight.

I personally think over the past few
Games weston has looked average , I think he is a good player when your winning and doing well ,
But when you are losing he becomes
List in the game , Onwards and upwards , and for kedwell , I think he is a good striker to have up top with deon burton

I do not think Kedwell is good enough at this level, I agree he works hard but a strikers job is to score goals, how many has he scored from open play this season? I am one of the few that feels we still need a good striker to push on for promotion.

The back four had a rare off night against a good Exeter side, this will not be the last game we lose this season so not to down about it. Hope to see a defender with some pace and a striker come in this week, or lets see if Birchall can fill the gap!!!

Not a fan of Kedwell personally, and as for singing "Super Bobs" song for him that really saddens me, he is not fit to lace Bob Taylors boots, the air shot last night summed it up for me

In addition to getting David Wright back before the window shuts (5pm Thursday) I really feel we should get a centre forward in. Someone who's good in the air,and plays through the middle. Now I know this will be difficult, as all teams want that type of player and teams who have got anyone decent, aren't likely to let them go, so I expect it will have to be a reserve striker from a Championship club or above. I'm afraid that I've never really rated Kedwell and his last few appearances have done nothing to change my opinion. He certainly isn't good enough for L1 if we go up.

I am going to be contrary to opinion here. I never have been a fan of Keds as a striker, I will rephrase that as a 'striker' that scores goals. However, I hasten to add on the balance of the entire game last night, I felt Keds did actually give us much more strength up front.

We were never going to break Exeter down with fancy football, they were faster and much better at it than us. Our passing was superb at times in the first half but it is all to no avail if the ball is pinging itself around the pitch with no end result.

What is it we have learned about possession, it is not how much you keep the ball, it is who takes their chances. Look at the first half, how many shots did Exeter have on goal? I have not seen any stats but probably one, the free kick they scored. There lays the problem and I have thought this for many games, it was so predictable last night when we hammered our free kick yet again into the wall.

Strangely and for the first time I felt watching Keds last night reminded me of Akinfenwa, I said that in my match report. Who is to blame for that Keds or our set up?

Bayo had Cody, who has Keds got of that same mould, I am sure we all remember Tomlin. Ah! Birchall?

If Keds is not the mould for the set up then fair enough but lets not blame the player for it, nor blame him for the tactics if you do not have the supporting player in the role (see paragraph above).

I have never stuck up for Keds before but in my opinion he was not to blame.

Personally I have never thought that Kedwell is good enough for a promotion pushing League 2 side, he is one paced and terrible at finishing in all honesty, not great attributes for a striker!

I think we need to get another striker in, someone who can bag us a lot of goals, like Jamie Cureton for example!

Additionally i dont think we are playing to Weston's strengths, he is best when starting from deep and running at players whilst they are retreating, last night he was getting balls round his throat allowing the defender to get set in his position, much harder to go round someone when they are set and all you have is 5 yards of space to go into.

I can only reiterate what Ive said a 1000 times before. Kedwell is overweight, unfit and not good enough to be starting. We do need another striker.

I think some of the comments towards Keds are slightly unkind to say the least. If he is so overweight and unfit as people are trying to suggest, I ask two questions...

    1. Why did Exeter feel it necessary to close him down with at least three men?
    2. Why would MA play him, we know the manager's thoughts on fitness?

Also I believe he still remains our top scorer with nine of our 36 goals (penalty debate), unless we want a one man team and Jamie Cureton, 15 of the 29. Again this comes back to my earlier comment #9 and the set up.

So I will ask a third question....

    3. Bearing in mind we are four points clear at the top of the league, would you prefer one prolific goalscorer to score 50%+ of the team goals, or would you prefer the goals to come from within the entire squad?

I think that its important that goals come from around the team, as an over reliance on one man may leave you snookered if he is injured or suspended, and to be fair I haven't seen that much of Kedwell, but what I have seen has not impressed me greatly (though I don't think he's overweight), Put it this way I can think of at least 20 strikers I have seen a Gills shirt that I would choose ahead of him including at least 10 who played in the corresponding division, but equally I have seen plenty who make Kedwell look like Drogba!
