Keane: "To be honest I've never cared much for Manchester United fans. For the most part, they are clueless glory hunters, trying to add a sense of accomplishment to their own pointless lives jumping on the bandwagon of a successful sporting club." Ouch
Yes fella. I'm devastated that a group of Chelsea fans have been suckered into believing an internet prank! These are not the droids you're looking for!
Not sure where you got this from since you give no indiaction, but, if true it is no different than Jose saying Chelsea supporters know nothing about football. Just another self-important mans opinion
The difference is Jose's comment was real, the Keane comment is a piss take off the back of his autobiography rants. Some people will believe anything and even those people have their own followers!
Let's be honest lad, this thread coupled with your Fabregas non record thread suggests that you get a bit over excited and shoot a bit too early.
Keane could have been talking about any club when he made this comment. At least on this forum you get the opinions of people who have a life and a perspective on life. It says more about society than any club, that so many people attach themselves like limpets to a club in order to have some sort of success rub off on them. Thats why supporters of many of the unsuccessful clubs have learned to grit their teeth and suck it up. You know, the Arsenals, Liverpools, Man utds of the world, their supporters know what it's like to be unsuccessful ,but they stick with the Club anyway.
I've never liked Roy keane if he did say that then its disgraceful. How he thinks its ok to slate the people that gave him all he could ever dream of is nothing short of ridiculous. I have no idea where all his bullshit, psuedo-aggresive adolescent angst comes from, but if he lived in the real world he wouldnt have been able to get away with any of it
I think you'll find it may have been the other way round. Fergie himself stated that when he wanted to get him to join United, said they'll win the league without him but to win the CL they needed Keane.
I did, and although it may seem like a poke it is in fact true. All these teams have gone through many years of nothing yet the support has always stuck by them. City and Newcastle could be added to the list and it would be no shame
