Kean Heaps Pressure On QPR STEVE Kean believes all the pressure is on Blackburn's relegation rivals this weekend. In a strange statement in his side's build up to a fixture against Wigan Athletic, Steve Kean did not concede relegation, but rather believed the pressure was on QPR and Bolton Wanderers to pick up results. While it is undoubtedly the easier of the two fixtures this weekend for Rangers and the Trotters, if they better Blackburn's results against Wigan, then Rovers will be relegated. 'The pressure is definitely on them (QPR & Bolton) to get results,' said Kean. 'You could argue there is more pressure on them as they are playing first. 'We just need to look after our own result, we can`t do anything about QPR or Bolton, but we`ve got them in our sights. 'If we can beat Wigan, it all goes to the last game.' Rovers are looking to take matters to the last day, when they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with QPR knowing all to well the fate that could possibly await them. Only one win in their last seven has seen Rovers plummet into the bottom three while QPR and Bolton face home games against Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion respectively. If all three win then the last day could see all five relegation candidates finish on 37 points, so Blackburn still have a slim chance...
Given Steve Kean seems to thrive on the abuse and bile of 20,000 fans every week I've come to the conclusion that he's one of those odd blokes that likes being tied up and abused by a fat bird in leather and as such I don't take anything he says seriously. Also he's a puppet for Jerome Anderson. They're down and he knows it.
Sadly Kean is a deluded sad muppet who is taking Blackburn down. This is the guy that lost about 4-5 games on the trot and said they were heading in the right direction? The Blackburn fans even think he is an idiot? Every time i see him in an interview i think he is a muppet.
Stupid comment by Kean but he is right in a way. The pressure is on everyone especially us and Bolton to get a result on Sunday. We both need to win. This is the time for our big players to stand up and be counted!
Blackburn will NOT beat Wigan....I'd bet my mortgage on it! Wigan comfortably beat Newcatle 4-0 and Blackburn couldnt even hit a single attempt on goal against a poor Spurs. Blackburn are gone.....its just down to us and Bolton.
We should focus on our own result and not worry about what is going on - and being said - by those around us. I hope Mark has the guys relaxed but ready: we don't want an attack of stage fright, although I imagine the newly ignited atmosphere at Loftus Road will soon wake our guys up.
With some of our characters I'm more concerned about a flood of adrenalin and aggression........decent passing football where the ball moves forward towards the opposition goal is what we need.
**** Kean and Blackburn... Assuming Bolton beat or at least draw with Baggies (which we have to) and that we end up beating Stoke in front of our baying brethren at LR, it'll be a tad ironic that our 'cup final' won't feature the name QPR... Everything will hang on the outcome of that Stoke v Bolton game on the last day. Despite Bolton's apalling display at home to Spurs the other night, it'll be just our luck that Bolton run away with it. Fasten yer seat belts lads. Heads between yer knees. If you've never prayed before, now's the time to start (and don't stop till the final whistle of the season)!!
Every option assumes we beat Stoke of course but if Bolton pick up 3 points at the weekend then we will definitely want Blackburn to put one over on Wigan. We will want to go to City with as many other clubs as possible in the running to have a slip up on the last day and let us survive even with a loss. So slag Steve Kean off all you like but he could yet turn out to be our saviour.
I hope they do. If we beat Stoke it would mean they'd be one bottle job performance against Wolves away from finishing below us.
