Don Revie when he was manager of Leeds United got Gypsy Lee down from Preston to lift a curse on the ground when he took over as boss there. I watched the game on Sky down the pub & at final whistle I was sifting through the yellow pages to see if we could find a solution to our goal drought at the KC.. I mean, like many have said it's so frustrating, the old clichés such as it's a marathon, it's a hard league etc are true but at the end of the day we didn't take our chances. We have a good team, we created, we looked easy on the ball and we lost to a great strike.. From the top of my head our best chances came and went with.. Cairney's free kick - hit bar Simpson one on one at end, we beat offside trap he chips over Fryatt takes heavy touch, doesn't pass to Barmby - chance gone Barmby gets the ball, curls it over Brady has a couple of efforts a bit off target Simpson comes inside, tries effort with left foot, inches wide Brady run up wing & pass of the night, Barmby can't stretch.. that's SEVEN of the better ones, maybe there were more, I was either at the bar or losing memory.. Other than that, can't really blame the manager, thought Gulacsi had a couple of dodgy moments coming to punch balls that we got away with. Koren was quiet, Brady our MOM. Rome wasn't built in a day and Fer Ark wasn't demolished in a decade bla bla bla..
Also Fryatt's first were he only half aimed to chip the keeper because the whistle had gone for offside. I re-watched the match on Sky+ and noticed the commentator's didn't notice the linesmans flag or ref's whistle... yet watching again, I can see why they might not have noticed it - Fryatt was AT LEAST 5 yards onside. Not sure how the linesman can get something so wrong.
Do we have recourse for legal action against the exorcist then? There are still a few demons blocking our goal mouth...
hehe. cant find the link anywhere im afraid. although i clearly remember a few reports that browny had some local crazy woman down to get rid of the 'curse' at the KC.
I watched the match on TV and I think Tigercity has it bang on. Brady was outstanding and looked full of confidence, Gulacsi looked a bit dodgy at times and the finishing was disappointing as were the many unnecessary give-aways. We should have converted a number of the chances into goals and consequently would have won but we were beaten by a very good strike. If Brady keeps performing and the finishing improves, I think it should be an enjoyable season.
