Good article in a Belgian magazine. Interesting comment when she mentions that Charlton were close to bankruptcy. https://translate.google.com/transl...030e61041cf90#.VCJWnldUOkc.twitter&edit-text=
So what? Dick. The club has always been close to bankruptcy. It annoys me plenty, when these articles appear as they are wildly inaccurate and all they do is serve as fanny polishing for this new regime, when this lot fack off the new owners will say, we saved you from bankruptcy, apathy, bad management etc. And as for a good article, it is pathetically bland, unambitious and non committed. Its the sort of article you get in Match magazine written by a 5 year old. Under the last regime we were in the 3rd divion and drowning, when the board left we were promoted. That's all you have to remember.
Statements like we were close to bankruptcy will always endear fans to the new regime - it's not an unusual soundbite after a takeover. The owners weren't willing to put in more money than necessary, but I don't think it was anything like it was towards the end of the Murray era. I'd say the more interesting part is where she confirms Peeters and scouts find the players and RD has the final say. Ok, at every club the chairman/CEO signs off on it, but usually it's the manager that gives the green light.
i'm surprised they didnt mention that she rejected my "add" on linked in. was really disappointed. she comes across well. looks a little older than 30 though!
Just one thought...if Charlton really were close to bankruptcy, why has RD chosen to keep on board the main culprit for this dire situation ? #RichardMurray
If they were that close to bankruptcy, RD would never have paid the £14mil plus the add on for staving off relegation. Like Markus Liebherr, if he knew it was close to administration he would have waited that little bit longer.
In my view, Slater and Jimi were the best thing to happen to this club in 8 years. If we look at what they took over and what they left, in footballing terms it was a huge success. Off the field they cleaned up the rubbish, the hangers on and the sycophants, those on PL wages doing a division 3 job. They made buying CAFC so much easier for Roland by clearing out the dead wood. Would you buy CAFC with some of the leeches that were left over by Murray, knowing that you would have to TUPE their contracts? Nice work Slats and Jimi, the table never lies.
"Katrien Meire, CEO Charlton talks about his role in England and talks about his boss." Never realised Katrien was a bloke. Transvestite I presume.
Overall I was a fan of them, but I think they made a hard task of the last few months with a few horror stories emerging. That said, they got rid of RE so probably go down as my favourite owners in history
Katrien is an undoubted babe, but am I alone in missing the days when our chairman wore a sheepskin coat and a bad combover ? You knew where you stood with Michael Glikstien. Normally in 6 inches of p1ss if the bogs in the Covered End had overflowed again
