Liverpool frustrated in £7m Ince chase as Blackpool chairman refuses to answer calls

Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston is continuing to play hardball with Liverpool over the potential transfer of England Under-21 star Thomas Ince.
Liverpool's interest in taking the 20-year-old winger back to Anfield is well known and they are thought to be willing to pay £7m for the player - who they released in July 2011.
Blackpool - who snapped up Ince for a small compensation fee - stand to make a huge profit, but the Daily Mirror are reporting that Oyston will not talk to Reds manager Brendan Rodgers.
Oyston has form for this sort of tactic, with former Tangerines boss Ian Holloway admitting that the club ignored calls for Charlie Adam's services back in January 2011.
Swansea are ready to rival any bid from Liverpool with their manager Michael Laudrup a keen admirer of the player.

It is thought that a return to Anfield is Ince's preferred move but with the Reds set to receive money back from a sell-on clause Blackpool want to drive the price up as high as they possibly can.
Ince, son of former England midfielder Paul, has scored 21 goals in 69 games since moving to Bloomfield Road.

What a bell-end. I bet he was the sort of kid that turned off the computer if he was losing 1-0 at fifa. I think we should turn our back on Ince, look elsewhere and vow to never do business with Blackpool again while Oyston is in charge

The seemingly endless pursuit on Ince is really putting me off.

i agree... but in the end they can either ****e of get off the pot on jan 31... can't they? ince will be on a shorter deal there so he's cutting his own throat. if he doesn't sell the kid will miss his chance this time round.

God can't we take a hint ffs, just move the **** on, seriously. Ince isn't even worth £6m ffs. God, first we buy prospects from lower end PL clubs which fail and now we look even lower to the ****ing championship.

but buying from europe like assiadi is ok cos his name is exotic???

come on... if a player like bale is available for 1mil you would buy him or would you call him muck?

Ince's record speaks for itself, my objection here is i fail to see where he fits in. sterling, suso.... sturridge borini... just where are we going with this one?

Why do we do this, Ince isnt f**kin Messi, there are other players we could probably get for less of more ability, no Liverpool would rather stick it out and pay over the odds for another Brit

Petty and unprofessional on the part of Blackpool's chairman.
We should walk away from the deal, simple as that, if its true that not many others teams are in for him and he'd also like to return, I'd suggest he stay put and we'll come back for him in the Summer, when we'd be able to sign him for a lot less!
Agree with others, right now, he's not a priority, if possilble, in the remainder of the window, I'd like to get a LB and a DM.

I watched him a lot in the reserves and he played through the middle and not on the left so he could fit in.

    Henrikh Mkhitaryan 12- 15 mill
Yevhen Konoplyanka 8-10 mill (prefered, his contract ends in december, no one else has moved for him, worth a bid)
both better options than ince imho, if blackpool dont want to sell than move on and concentrate on signing someone else.
the window wont stay open forever so we need to get some player in sooner rather than later.

lol; Keep it up! We really dont want him, we're just trying to make it look like we do, drive price up, Swansea's alreadytook the bait and I'm sure Spurs will be along as normal to take one of our "targets"

Wont it be a shame when we have to settle for picking up our cut of the sale to someone else eh?.....

Havent we loaned them a few players the last couple of years like Shelvy and Wilson. If he wants to be like that I would refuse to loan Blackpool players in the future.

Absolutely time to move on. We seemed to have picked two players (Sturridge and Ince) and that is it! RHC's reporter mate said it was these two about two months back, that's a modern day flexible working ability right there! <doh>

Assaidi was 2-3 million and we didn't spend ages desperately begging them to accept our offer. Charlie Adam's record was stellar at Blackpool and that was when they were in the PL...

I can see Rodgers in future aiming for this kind of attack:

AM/10: Plays at the tip of the midfield behind the attack. They are creative, skillful, open up space and get in the box. But they are also able to drop back in to midfield, link passing and help us dominate possession in the opposition half.

    String: Sturridge.

Flexible forward: Staring in wide roles but drifting narrow interchanging with the ST and AM. Suarez. Will some times operate us false 9.

Reverse winger: A winger who is part of the front three. They are able to drift inside and score goals. But will also be able to add width at times, adding flexibility to the team. Sterling. But some times two will play, especially with a false 9.

But Rodgers has said with reverse wingers he like to have a right footer on the left and a left footer on the right. Sterling is right footed. But this lessens us in terms of versatility. A left footed alternative is needed. Downing is not doing it so we are looking to some one else. Ince fits the mould.

Add to that the rule of 2 quality players to each position.

Borini makes up another alternative again.

    Direct:
    Sterling Sturridge Suarez
    or
    Suarez Sturridge Ince

    F9:
    Ince Suarez Sterling
    or
    Ince Suarez Borini
    Narrow:
    Suarez Sturridge Borini

    Width:
    Sterling Suarez Ince
    -------Sturridge----

Also having a player like Ince or Sterling on the bench will also be very useful. We can bring them on against tired defenses.
