I haven't been a fan but I think I may have underestimated his value. Did a good job when he came on.
Has anyone been singing Henry's praises in recent times? Oops... I mean, has anyone in the clique been singing his praises in recent times?
Not only that but he's obviously been doing some work on his kicking skill. He can hit the ball really well and it's downward spin on it, which makes his overhead passes really effective. He took a good corner today that had no chance of being met by the first man. Him and Hoilett were the best players of the pre-season and were instantly dropped for the first game by Harry
First name on the team sheet for me Pleased to hear he was doing what I know he can do It's not with the ball that you should watch him ... He is excellent without it When pumped I still believe he can control a game in this league If would play with Adel then I think we would see something as Henry wins the ball and gives it easy The perfect match for Adel or Krancy
A complete mystery to me why he didn't start with both Barton and Mutch struggling with injury and Sandro out. This caused us to lose control of midfield very early in the game and allowed us to be overrun on the break. It does make you wonder what HR and GH are up to.
If it wasn't apparent enough before kickoff surely they should have worked it out by the time Barton was forced off. Henry's impact was instant, sitting in front of the back 4 and breaking up Stoke's counter attacks. Henry coming on was the difference between us going on to equalise and us conceding 2-3 more.
Can't believe everybody's climbing up Henry's arse all of a sudden without a single nod to Oddball who's championed his abilities from the word go. Bad form that fellas
He was a beast for two years at the Wolves but lost his way a bit, was good enough for Joey to feel the need to lock horns wth him.
Absolutely right. And Col has consistently said we need to play a proper DCM. We now have two in Henry and Sandro, you'd expect one to start every game. Especially if we are going to start matches with 2 CBs, 2 wing backs and no wingers.
Apart from perhaps Krancjar I couldn't tell where any of our midfielders were playing positionally. I'd like to say it was like watching Holland or Brazil in the early 70's, fluid total football, players interchanging constantly. But it wasn't quite like that.
