QPR last night agreed a deal to sign Wolves midfielder Karl Henry.

The enforcer, 30, will have a medical today (Tuesday) at Championship Rangers who are giving him a two-year deal with a 12-month option.

Henry is part of boss Harry Redknapp’s rebuilding following relegation.

He was made to train with the kids by new boss Kenny Jackett following Wolves’ relegation to League One and has been let go in a bargain deal.

But Wanderers are still struggling to shift big-earning trio and fellow outcasts Roger Johnson, Jamie O’Hara and Stephen Ward.

MirrorSport understands there has been very little interest in the trio who are draining cash from Molineux.

Well, this is a very strange one. Surely not just to snub Barton?! I hope to God Harry has called this one right.

    What are we to do?
We don't like this twat but we can't boo him if he signs for us.
Like him or not we will have to give him a chance. Not happy about this.

A lot of teams are going to be gunning for us next year, and we need some people in our squad who can fight fire with fire. It won't be pretty but I don't care, I want effective and promotion straight away. I believe Karl Henry is a better option in CM than Stephane Mbia, who is a Centre Half and should never operate in CM. He'll provide a bit of protection for the likes of Faurlin and could help us in some tough away fixtures. I'm all for giving our signings a chance to prove themselves.

Just when i think our club cant surprise us any more, something like this happens.

We must remember when we first bought in Derry and Hill however, and look what they done for us. Im praying Karl will go the same way, but personally cant see that happening.

Fulham Chronicle has the move in doubt with him returning to Wolves. We can but hope.

Good sense nuts. I will be annoyed if anyone boos him on his debut. We have to give this fella a chance.

Maybe we're strengthening our squad, so as to retain the red card cup for the 3rd year in a row.....

Bit of a strange one, but I'm assuming that Harold is thinking that Derry can not do 46 games so this is his alternative......there again if what Stan says is correct it may not happen anyway

Queens Park Rangers are understood to be close to completing the signing of Karl Henry after apparently agreeing a fee for the Wolverhampton Wanderers captain.

New Wolves boss Kenny Jacket transfer listed the tough-tackling midfielder upon taking charge at Molineux this summer, in an attempt to reduce the Midlands outfit's wage bill following their relegation from the Championship.

According to Sky Sports News the 30-year-old will undergo a medical with Harry Redknapp's Hoops on Tuesday morning before finalising the deal.

Henry has made more than 250 appearances for Wolves since joining the club from Stoke City in 2006, and will be Rangers's third signing of the close season following the arrivals of Richard Dunne and Danny Simpson.

Can this guy do a job for us in the Championship? Clearly this would be an abysmal signing were we still in the prem. I'm disappointed, but perhaps we're being too harsh? If this is a top half of the championship player who'll try his bollocks off- then maybe it's not such a bad signing. I honestly don't know enough about the guy to say whether that's the case or not though. Perhaps Harold knows Mbia + Granero are definitely off, and wants a CM in sharpish?

I think it's clear Harry thinks we were lacking 'steel' in midfield last season and this is to put that right. I hope he also noted we lacked creativity as well and puts that right. I'm not happy with Henry signing but sometimes these type of signings prove to be the 'glue' that knit things together as Derry was in 2010-11, you can't have 11 pretty players these days...

I for one see it as a good signing if it comes off. Sadly last season the departure of Barton left us lacking the fight top stay up. Mbia has a great engine and can break up the play but he is also the worse passer of the ball to grace the prem. Granero - lightweight Derry - slow we do need some metal for the championship . He wants to play for us isn't that the requirement now ? Parker def not coming if he signs though.

Whilst not overly excited I'm one who actually thinks the signing makes sense, we need a no nonsense ball winner in CM, Derry won't last a season, can now assume that Barton will definitely go & clearly Parker isn't coming + we're now shopping at Asda not Harrods these days.
