Queens Park Rangers midfielder Karl Henry admits he's been 'dodgy' so far this season John Verrall @JohnVerrall Karl Henry has played a key role under all three of Queens Park Rangers's managers during the campaign to date. please log in to view this image Karl Henry has admitted to the Kilburn Times that he has put in a few ‘dodgy performances’ for Queens Park Rangers so far this season. Embed from Getty Images Henry has played regularly in central midfield for Rangers so far this term, and he has featured prominently under all three of Chris Ramsey, Neil Warnock and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. However, the 33-year-old doesn’t feel that he has been at his best to date - and he has suggested that he wants to improve over the second half of the season. “It’s been a bit of an up and down campaign for me, I must admit," he said. “Up until the last few games I thought my form had been quite good under the new manager, but I’ve had a few dodgy performances here and there. please log in to view this image “As long as I’m doing enough to impress the manager and that gets me in the team I’m happy, and if not I’ll work even harder to force myself into his first-team plans.” Henry is a divisive figure at Loftus Road, and he has bore the brunt of supporters’ frustrations. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers man has been booed by QPR fans, at times, QPR fans, at times, and there are question marks over his value to the team. All three of QPR’s managers this term clearly believe that his combativeness and aggression is crucial to the London side’s chances though, and he has played in every league match to date. QPR are currently in 15th place in the Championship table, with their next fixture coming against Wolves at the weekend.
A few ??????????? So, if I get picked regularly, I don't have to work any harder to improve myself ???? and if I don't get picked,, well ****, I guess I might have to work a bit harder to get back into the team ???? Great attitude ?????????????????
I can't wait to get DT's take on this article. I bet it's something like bullsh*t, lazy journalism.......local rag
Henry sums everything about Rangers to me this season. I have a complete indifference about them or them. He is neither poor nor good. That could also go for the whole team from Green through Perch, Konchesky, Sandro, Faurlin, Fer, Phillips, Chery etc etc etc. The only excepted players from the list are Austin, Hall, Hoillet and Polter. Onouha I'm still not sure of. It appears to me that we're stuck in limbo at the moment. I'm looking forward to JFH's new look younger and hungry 'Dirty Dozen' to put on the 'hoops' and take to the battlefield. Busy urgent players looking to impress with a little stardust thrown in that hasn't come into our collective consciousness yet.
I don't really engage in the abusing of our players, but why is it ok to give dogs abuse to Henry and not say someone like Sandro? At least Henry never hides and plays when he is chosen. How about the four players last season who feigned injury at the away game to Man City and refused to travel. Henry has never shirked his duty when selected. He may be of limited ability but there has been plenty of other players who deserve the abuse before him.
Christ on a bike! It's you again. Mmmmm? Mackie and Henry are of a similar ilk. Both triers but not very good. The trade off is at some point between them and Adel. As mentioned above, there were four players that couldn't even be arsed to travel to Man City and feigned injury. Vargas, Isla, Zarate and Sandro. They gave it the old I've got a sore hamstring routine. I've heard this from the horses mouth. CR and SLF. They stopped playing for us. ( Whenever you see this reported you know the player is trying to pull a fast one as it's medically hard to disprove.) It's a bit like saying I have a bad back but footballers choose the hamstring as their default injury of choice. Hence why Ramsey was reluctant to use Sandro earlier in the season. He didn't trust him. Henry didn't get involved in any of these shenanigans. He played and tried his best when called upon. Where is the trade off point between a trier and a talent?
Oh I'd have him over Sandro any day and I don't doubt he's Mr 100%. I don't hate the bloke at all. I just think he's a really crap footballer.
Fair play to you Wat's you can't be any fairer or blunter than that. The four horseman of the apocalypse got away with it though.
SLF and CR knew what they were up to alright. They left the club in the lurch. Zarate is a real piece of work and the two Chilean's aren't too far behind.
Do you know why? I was thinking Man City would be one place they'd want to play even if they didnt fancy Sunderland or Palace. Or was the game going out live in front of their mates and families in South America and they thought we were going to get stuffed!
It's a good question Ossie. But from my personal point of view it had started before Harry left and one of the reasons why he did. They had decided to give up on QPR in December. See their contracts out, live in London on good money for doing very little. But that's my own opinion, and it fits in with their lack of contribution to the side from then onwards. Zarate has just left West Ham for Fiorentina without really featuring for them. If Bilic couldn't get him going then that tells you all you need to know about him.
I believe Zarate did do well for them the first 2/3 months this season, but his form was not so good of late and there had been another falling out.
