http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...io-Lemina-Juventus-swap-deal-latest-transfers ... possible if Mendy is already a done deal ... would still prefer to keep the little man personally ...
I suppose he'd be playing alongside Pogba if he goes there, but still seems an odd move, as the Italian league is poor these days. Will be interesting to see how he does at a big club, as he's not going to have that many attacks to stop.
Signing for one of the biggest clubs in the world in a country where good defending is revered and he barely has to work and can so extend his career for longer? Seems like a no brainer to me. Reports are that he wants to go to Chelsea as he is a big fan of Conte - we should make sure that he doesn't stay in the Premier League if he moves.
Personally I like the idea of a swap-and cash deal, and this Lemina does look decent. We'll never get a replacement for Kanté but would be good to have some options in the centre of the park so we can adapt our play if necessary. Surprised Inler is still here, maybe Ranieri wants to keep him if Kanté does go? Let's not forget that he's a quality player and if we change our team's style he could well fit in with it.
... still no direct quote from the lad himself... apparently he's now a fan of Conte ... errr why? ... as I've said before...until I hear something direct it's just a mix of lazy journalism and some wishful thinking from some with affiliations to those clubs that finished behind us ...
N'Golo Kante's chances of staying "seem better than a couple of weeks ago", according to @MattSpiro on @BBCRLSport.
... far too early for me to start saying "told you so" ... but let's face it .. it is in our (LCFC supporter) DNA to expect the worse to happen, often without any real foundation other than inherent pessimism ... there is an incredible revolution going on at our club and our players have just come off the most remarkable of seasons ... there are plenty of reasons for thinking they might just want to be part of all of this for another season at least
Just like Vardy, Kante needs to sign a new contract to end this speculation, no-one would argue he deserves a payrise.
.. . do you know just how many others have such clauses? ... would you consider them all to be leaving? ..e.g Kaspar - apparently has a £17m release clause that Everton are considering triggering - and he also has a house in the north west and is, apparently, happy to move to merseyside? http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...star-He-keen-on-move-Merseyside-Transfer-News
IMO, if Kante stays then it'll be because the "release clause" is bollocks. He could get into Madrid's and Bayern's midfield right now and then wouldn't pass that opportunity up for 20m. Not would Kante reject the chance to hop to one of the absolute elite clubs in the world.
Yup - if they aren't willing to sign new contracts then I would consider them wanting to leave. I have no clue who have these clauses - I do however know that those players that are linked elsewhere have them and aside from Vardy, none of them have stated they are staying.
No one has actually bidded for him yet - lots of teams have apparently talked to his agent but no one has put up the cash yet. The transfer windows doesn't close for a long while yet and he is still playing the the Euros and with the minimum fee there is no point in bidding now as his value won't change - is a chance he will bugger himself up and be out for a long while though so things will happen in the upcoming weeks.
... but his value will change ... someone bidding the minimum fee merely triggers a possibility of sale ... but we are not obliged to accept the minimum fee ... it then goes to open bidding ... given the amount of clubs said to be interested I'd be amazed if any actual transfer was less than double the minimum fee given the current market ... Bailly £30m Benteke £31.5m etc
Someone here wrote that Kante's contract states we have to accept the highest fee above £20M so if that is the case then there could be a bidding war.
I highly doubt anything will happen with Kante while he is at the Euro As we showed with Vardy. I dont think anyone will be leaving here for the money as we can compete with 80% of the clubs in the world on wages
