http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/T...ng-hard-sign/story-26744544-detail/story.html ... looks like we really want this lad ...
£8M for an unknown, unproven and uncapped player? There is no English tax excuse either - I'm not sure about this signing at all.
Ive never heard of him so i trust Nigel's scouting. I hadnt heard of Kramaric, Mahrez or Knockaert before we signed them
Kramaric wasn't unknown - he was an international and one of Europe's brightest prospects with a lot of big clubs rumoured to be sniffing around when we took the plunge and signed him. Mahrez and Knockaert were signed for £750K and £900K respectively when we were in the Championship - this kid will be put straight into the deep end with the pressure of the big fee.
Kramaric was known to clubs but i had never heard of him Kante is highly rated by the sounds of things and has a few clubs after him The price tag might not bother him. If he signs and Cambiasso signs then I dont think the pressure will be as much
Villa are asking +£30 million for Benteke ... Soldado will be 'offloaded' by Spurs for £11 million (having cost £26m) ... welcome to Premier League economics ... £8 million for a player is certainly not 'big bucks' in comparative PL spend terms ... it would appear that this kid has any number of suitors and we are looking to secure a deal partly to ward of some of that competition ... if we stay in the Premier League this season then I would very much doubt, come the following season, that any regular starter in the then first team squad (with more than a year's contract to run) will have a sell on value of under £7.5 million ... that is the reality of where we are and are aiming to be my friends ...
Area we need to strengthen in, and looks like a hungry young player, with a decent engine. Would compliment Cambiasso perfectly, and I really hope that we're after this guy to pair with our magical Argentinian. We've plucked gems from the French leagues before and I'm confident we can do it again!
Ulloa was £8m, uncapped and untested at Premier League level (and unknown to those that might only watch top flight football) this time last year. He finished top goal scorer, ahead of a striker who has now been picked for England. Trust in Nigel... and his scouting network.
Kante has, by all accounts, been fantastic in the French first division this past season and was a vital component in Caen's promotion the season before. He's also being chased by Marseille (Champions League) but their finances are a bit iffy.
Why do people have issues every time we are linked with someone they have "never heard of" I think our scouting system has earned some trust by now
My issue is more with the value then the player - will be a very big chunk of the kitty especially since the other clubs sniffing around are looking at £5M for him http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...olo-Kante-Newcastle-Southampton-interest.html
... I suspect you are underestimating our transfer kitty somewhat ... we had similar bids out for Deeney and Okazaki at the start of last season... we are now considerably more wealthy both from Prem revenue and the continuing brand growth of King Power...
We spent as much in the Championship with Sven as we did last season in the Premier League Were not going stupid with the money but we do need some investment but its quality over quantity
Im glad that we arent messing about with small bids, i don't want us to spend weeks hammering out a fee for a player and then someone else comes in and poaches the sale. If Pearson has ok'd targets then we should get them in straight away with as little messing around as possible. Its been reported that some clubs have lowballed bids for NZonzi around £3-4m, whereas we had repotedly already offered £7m, and if he has rejected us, then that suggests that we would have had first crack at talking to him, which i personally think is the way to go.
