He not only scored he had a bloody good match. Amazing how players step up when the manager believes in them. Kalou is definitely good enough to be a regular squad player, and he DOES score important goals. Sturridge again made the wrong decision on the 2 occasions he was in a good position. Definitely needs to learn and listen, he's miles from the finished article.
Excellent game, excellent work from RDM, brave and right.

Kalou over Sturridge for me. Lucky they don't play on the same wing. Also Mikel over Essien. The old dead wood players have turned up.

Mikel can be decent and used in certain games but you're never going to get fast flowing football with him in the side. Kalou is still a useless twat and if we're to improve next season, they need to be shifted!

Disagree. Mikel, Romeu and Ramires are our midfielders capable of passing forward. Lampard and Essien are the ones that need to be moved on. Kalou is a vastly under rated player and the fact he hasn't started on the left where we have been missing a player is a mystery to me.

I'm a bit with you here. Several of our players who have been marginalised have improved. I don't put Essien in the same class as the rest of the old guard. It's only injuries that have stymied him, not attitude.
Kalou and Mikel especially have , all their careers, been behind the 8 ball. For the first few years they were behind much better players, then these same players kept getting selected when not deserving it and I think lack of game time and backing took the edge off them. Under Robbie they get selected, and backed, and they step up. I would keep both of them.
