Cardiff City youngster Kadeem Harris heads on loan to Brentford 17 Oct 2013 17:03 Bluebirds hope temporary switch to League One club will help development of speedy young winger Cardiff City rising talent Kadeem Harris is set to head out on loan to Brentford. The 20-year-old, signed by the Bluebirds from Wycombe in January 2012, has not yet burst into first-team contention, but has proved a big hit in Cardiff's development side. Blessed with electric pace, the capital club hope a spell in League One with the west Londoners will prove the next step in his development. The loan, which should be completed tomorrow, is set to last in the first instance until January.
think nugent had a few bad games sparks thy conceded 10 in 3 games i think with nugent playing ,good luck to them both
League 1! If he can't even get a start at a Championship club, I think his days at Cardiff are numbered. The only way he would be in the managers plans for the future is if we got relegated.
BLUEBIRDS - I think Nuge's first game for them was in the Carling Cup and they got stuffed 5-0 at Derby. Don't know if he got the blame for that lot, but I know he was dropped not long after and don't think he's played since. Then they got stuffed 4-0 by Bradford in the league without him shortly after that, and they haven't been that brilliant since either. I noticed he didn't even get a place on the bench for ages and assumed he might have been injured, but apparently not. Rossler doesn't seem to rate him so he ain't going to get much game time which is what he and we need for a loanee. Same applies to Harris as far as we're concerned. If he doesn't get some league starts I'd have rather brought him on with the Dev squad games.
I don't agree with this. Game time is game time and if that's a lower league that's fine. Look at Andros Townsend, 3 years ago (at 19) he was at MK Dons, had a load of other loan spells elsewhere afterwards and he's now one of the hottest players in the PL. I know Harris probably isn't going to ever be as good as Townsend, but I don't think that playing in League 1 is a bad thing for a youngster. I'm more surprised he hasn't been loaned out as much as possible.
I thought Of Townsend straight away. 9 different loans to Englands most potent looking attacking weapon in 2.5 years! Nothing wrong with L1 for a player with limited 1st team experience. Pilkington went from L1 to PL first team when Norwich bought him.
I remember seeing Townsend against us a couple of times in the Championship and didn't think a lot of him. Whinged if he didn't get the ball to his feet, didn't track back to support his defenders when losing position and generally not a team man. Another prima dona from a big club I thought. Got that one wrong didn't I although he seemed to pick up a spark from his time on loan with Harry at QPR last season - funny thing though Harry rarely picked him at Spurs - some game time in the League Cup or Europa League was the best he got. I see Harry Kane at Spurs in the same light, apart from the odd distance shot he has never impressed against us. He has been loaned out a few times as well. Got a hat trick for England Under 21's last week. If Harris gets game time at Brentford that will be a measure of his potential. He needs regular league games against experienced pros, not lads of a similar age and stage of development as in our Development Squad games. If he comes back and performs like Townsend for us that will be a huge win.
Kadeem Harris has looked excellent on the highlights of the Development squad, even scoring I believe, the winner versus the 2nd city. I am surprised then to read he has gone out on loan only to a League 1 team. But as BfB says, Andros Towshend went on loan [to NINE teams] before Spurs got the best out of him. Maybe then this will be the making (or breaking) of him. ps. On wingers, I hope Noone gets a chance tomorrow.
That's a fair point. Just felt at 20 years of age he should be more advanced than a League 1 player if he was going to be an impact Prem league player. Townsend does show you can be a late blossomer.
