In an interview with Swedish TV Alex has said he'll be leaving in the summer. Here's a link to the story as it broke earlier : http://www.viasatsport.se/nyheter/fotboll/kacaniklic-bryter-tystnaden-da-lamnar-jag-fulham/?mbbb There was always something to like about the guy I doubt if many will be surprised or disappointed by the news.
Never did think he would reach the heights, but comes the summer exits for Mc C, Dembele, Cairney, Emmerson H, Joronen, and maybe a couple of our talented youngsters ?
Looks like a good decision, he could probably turn out in the top league in a smaller footballing country - I think he would have to go to League 1 if he stayed in England. Lately especially he seemed to be low on confidence, not making most of his pace to beat players. At the beginning I thought his pace could carry him, he showed some composure in early finishes, but his decision making was generally poor and he became too much miss and not enough hit for a regular starting place. Good luck to him.
Personally I would not wish the best of luck to our current first team squad, due to the fact our league position signifies how they have taken the p..s over the past season
If you look at Kacaniklic he does not have the ability to be a good winger in the English Leagues. If I put him up against someone who I think was a good winger say Damien Duff, who possessed the ability to defend, attack to the by-line or cut inside, get behind defenses and cross a ball, take corners, and score goals. For me Kacaniklic is never a true winger, his best position could well be central midfield, were his tricks can create and also he has the ability to need little time to shoot at goal, but that's it, most of the time he is a passenger.
Funnily enough, I play Football Manager 2016 as Fulham's manager (natch) and I play Kaca in central midfield, with an instruction to run wide if he can, where he creates a ton of goals. In fact, with the squad we currently have in real life (realistically we started the 2015 under a transfer embargo) I managed us to the Championship title with over 100 points - we won 39 games and we now sit top of the premiership. As this game is very much based on the true ability of players - it now even incorporates Prozone stats - I think it shows that the squad really should have done much better than it has because I have done nothing special apart from apply tactics and a formation I think suits the team's ability. Incidentally Cairney is immense in the game and Dembele, whilst scoring 30 goals in our Championship Season, threw a strop, demanded to leave and only came back on board with the project when it became clear we were going to get promotion. Oh, and despite getting promoted to the Premiership Kostas still refused to come back and play for us so I sold him for a measly €5 million to SLB.
Next time there's a vacancy at Fulham apply for the job Fulhaman think you might have the credentials Mike Rigg is looking for
