Can anyone understand what the f**k Andy Townsend goes on about? I've already heard "he passed it round the corner" & "they've got to grab it at the top end"?
I never understand what any of them on ITV are talking about. For me in terms of punditry it goes - ITV, BBC, ESPN, Sky.
I watched the Juventus v Chelsea game and pobdered why in reality Juventus are allowed to play football at all. It wasn't long ago they were relegated to Serie B for match fixing and it is obviously still going on. Italian football doesn't appear to see too much wrong with match fixing. Particularly among its bigger clubs. UEFA just sits back and says it is up to the host FA. So why is UEFA there? There is no need for a player in professional football at that level to want even more money by cheating. If they do, and are caught, then it should be a lifetime ban for those concerned and a stiff penalty for the club if it is found to be culpable.
I fully agree redruth, I can't remember all the details of this case, but it is something that happened at his previous club from a lower league in Italy, as I said above, they initially banned him for much longer but he appealed, claiming to have no knowledge of the offence, they reduced his punishment, but didn't throw it out completely, so there must be an element of doubt!
