The youngster has been getting attention from a host of clubs this season, with Queens Park Ranger being one of those. TMW have reported today that Juventus have joined the race for the Frenchman after he starred in their league game against Cesena last weekend. Cesena pulled off shock a 2-2 draw against the reigning Italian champions and Defrel was the stand out player for the Serie A club. It has been claimed that Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta spoke to Cesena officials after the game to see if the club planned to sell their young star in the near future. This will come as a blow to QPR after holding talks with Defrel’s club in the last transfer window. During the last transfer window we covered the story that QPR had travelled to Italy to watch Cesena’s Serie A game at home to Lazio. Defrel again impressed during his side’s 2-1 victory over Lazio and he scored the opening goal for Cesena. It was claimed that QPR held talks with the Italian side after the match with regards to Defrel but a deal couldn’t be completed before the transfer deadline. It is likely that QPR will go back in for the 23 year old in the summer but they face competition from a number of clubs to sign him. Along with Juventus, Atalanta and Tornio have been showing an interest in the past few weeks, and they also attended the Lazio game.
I think that TF had got sick and tired of Harry only being interested in players he has known for years only to turn out to be duffs. This season he paid out big money for Sandro, played twice and now in the sick bay and then Zarate who Harry tried to sign when he was at Pompy. Came to us as fit as a 70 year old granny. Look forward to a more progressive transfer policy.
