    You're overestimating Carragher here mate, he's been a great servant and a fabulous player for us, but he wasn't even the best defender in the team for most of the decade, I'd put Hyypia ahead of him. Then you've got the likes of Vidic, Terry, Carvalho, (Walter) Samuel, Puyol, R. Ayala (as BBF said), Nesta, Cannavaro etc over the last decade who've been more talented than him.

    What's kept him at the top for so long was his desire, hunger and passion, but he was never the best in his position or most talented. Still, he's a credit to the club and the city.

    Humm. I think you're underestimating him. He cut it against Europe's best for years reaching two champ league finals. I think he was is better than Hyypia was. The others you mentions - probably correct, although in there are some of the best defenders ever.

    True servant to the club but to say better then Hyypia
    The Fin was a better defender then Carra imo

    But yes his loyalty and his work rate are excellent
