Great film, so chuffed that we as a team have the privilege of this effort. A few conclusions: Bhatia and Saksena seem like top quality blokes. Paladini - what a tit. Absolute crook. Briatore - well....pretty obvious. In fact, confirms. Warnock - still gutted he left. Jury out on Hughes. Some good footballers in last seasons squad i.e ephraim, rampage, hill, derry but unfortunately a bit surplus. Tarrabt - wow. Will never forget last season, quite the emotional ride. Especially the Faurlin episode. P.s. why the hell did we sell Gorkks?
I also got the impression that Bhatia and Saksena liked working for the Club and were a good double act.
I'm glad somebody came out and said that. I have to confess that when I watched the file, i thought Paladini came across as a bit of a tit, but a crook? Why do you do draw that conclusion? I thought he looked like a guy that genuinely was acting in the interests of the club and was as surprised as everybody else when the charges were laid. I freely confess to feeling some sympathy for the man, as he was quite clearly under immense pressure after that. It was convenient to portray him as the scapegoat and we duly bought into that. He was probably naive, but (again) a crook? Did I imagine it, or was Paladini the guy that stepped in and grabbed the rudder when all else was lost? Was he the guy that got the much-needed cash in from Briatore and Eccleston? We may hate B&E, but did they say we would be Premier League in 4 years, and isn't that what we currently are? If you say the ride could have been prettier, then I'd agree with you. The revolving door on the Team Manager's office was nothing short of embarrassing. But here we are: in the Premier League (for now).
Guys, I've sen the dvd, got a mate to post over tio me, but i'm holding a screening here on Tuesday night for all QPR fans...got a few in allready...Big screen cinema screen and loads of beer.... personaly; i cnt se why they let it be filmed....not sure the bosses came out with much cred....? Great DVD that should be wqatched by all supporters of promoted teams !! IMO
We sold Gorkks because he was the only player that a team was willing to pay money for. Warnock needed to sell to get the funds for DJ
I got slated for saying it on the old BBC 606 site, but Paladini - for all his faults - was the one person who managed to persuade two seriously rich individuals to sink their cash into the money pit that comes with football club ownership. It might have worked out differently, but to have lost the stadium - our key asset - due to defaulting on the £10m payment on the ABC loan - might have put us in the winderness for many, many years.
