    Dear ****

    SEAN O’DRISCOLL'S DEPARTURE
We have issued a statement relating to this, the main thrust being a plea for much-needed stability in the Club. We express our thanks to Sean for his contribution in his short stay, notably his efforts to explain at length his football philosophy and his readiness to meet fans. Although now overtaken by events, here, for the recrod, are the notes from his meeting with us on 14 November.

    EVERY SCHOOLBOY’S DREAM
The story of the Woodcock Shield

Since 1907, generations of U15 schoolboys in Bristol and South Gloucestershire have played for their schools in the Woodcock Shield. A number went on to be City players. Two ‘Memories’ articles have been published in Well Red and a third article will appear on 14 December.

Steve Sutor’s father Ray was in the Wells Road team which won in 1939. His book ‘Every Schoolboy’s Dream’ has just been published. It’s the definitive history of the Woodcock Shield 1907-2013 and well worth a place in any Bristol football fan’s collection.

Ray Cashley, Jantzen Derrick and Geoff Merrick, Wayne Bray, Des Smith, Bert Brown and possibly other City legends will be with author Steve Sutor at a book-signing session in the Supporters Bar Sat 14 December 1.30pm. Alternatively you can order from me (below) and collect from Winterstoke Road kiosk or I can post, £15 + £2 p&p.
