Walking to work this morning I picked this all time squad. Apologees if I have not picked one of your favourites and I am sure I have missed some of mine as it was early in the morning. Please feel free to post your all time squad. 1. F. Davies 2. P. Dwyer 3. K. McNaughton 4. F. Keenor 5. D. Murray 6. G. Kavanagh 7. P. King 8. R. Earnshaw 9. B. Clarke 10. P. Stant 11. J. Buchanan Subs: R.Healey, G. Bell, D. Gabbidon, A. Legg, W. Anderson, T. Evans and R. Friday
Although we didn't have him at anywhere near his world-conquering best, are we allowed to pick JC? (No, not the one that gave us Christmas and Easter bank holidays, but rather Il Gigante Buono – The Gentle Giant!)
I did say it was early in the morning, John Charles would definately be in there, did not consider Craig as never our player (on loan) thought my choices were better than Toshack but now I have to drop somebody for John Charles
I have a soft spot for Jason Perry and Scott Young, but appreciate they probably would not make a best XI. Too hard for me!!!!
Be careful not to judge the Toshack you see today. As a young man playing in a City shirt you watched and every time the ball went near him you were holding your breath half expecting a goal. To be fair as a young player he delivered, which is why Liverpool paid so much for him at the time. City were never going to keep him, he was far too good!! Credit where it's due. KTF
Difficult to argue with any of those although I think Aaron Ramsey should be there somewhere. Far and away the most talented footballer I have seen at City. I know he has yet to prove himself on the big stage but worthy of consideration. And what about Jolly Rog? Fred Keenor is in for sentimental reasons and none of us can make a true comparison but imagine a centre back pairing of Don Murray and Roger Johnson, not much would get through the middle.
I'm must be getting old...I just noticed Willie Anderson and Tony Evans on the subs bench in OP View attachment 5124
